The Sakho myth

I'm fucking sick of this constantly spoon-fed bullshit that Sakho is 'awkward' with the ball and can't pass. Lazy media twats like Clive 'someone please, please, please shoot me in the cock' Tyldsley go on and on and on about it every time they get the chance. Utter bollocks.

Yep, his passes are usually incisive and forward. He does the odd sexy back heel too. He's an automatic starter for me. He does have the odd blip when he gets caught on the ball and commentators and certain fans focus on that moment. He is usally caught on the ball as he's reluctant to go backwards with the ball.

I was on the Kop with a mate of mine once and he called Traore 'Jungle Sticks'. I had to point out to him later that that nickname might not be quite the done thing.

I do like Sakho but his body shape does look a bit awkward at times when he is passing. His passes find a man and some of his passes are excellent but he does look a bit awkward. I can see why the hacks have pounced on it. I annoys me that they have but whatyagunnado?

If the worst they can do is worry about his passing style cos we're barely conceding goals, it's something I can live with

His passing is great, his defending his great, he does look gangly, but so what?

That's not really what I've shown reservations about in the past, it's his mad customary two minutes where he looks like he's going to implode and cause a disaster through sloppy passing or a mad moment of indecision. Cf his rugby tackle last week, his unnecessary passing into players who are surrounded by two or three opponents in a dangerous area of the pitch. It happens, but by and large he's been brilliant over the last few months, if he cuts that out, he'll be immense.

His passing is lazer like, very pacey and mostly forward. Its noticeable how when we are under pressure it seems it's if in doubt give the ball to Sakho. He sets more than his fair share of hospital balls which contributes to some of the situations Mark described. Made up all the so called pundits who gave him a real slagging are having to eat their words, couldn't give a fuck what he looks like it's what he does that matters.

Nothing wrong with that. Chopsticks is not insulting so why should Jungle sticks be.

*coughs and walks off ignoring the righteous uproar in his wake*

spot on. if anything, he is too cultured and wants to overplay the game. some more simply hoofs interspread with his laser like passing and we have balance.

I'm surprised at the love for Sakho. He seriously looks like an accident waiting to happen. He makes numerous mistakes - Hospital balls and brain farts all over the place. So far though nothing of note has come of it though so I guess I'm in the minority. The OP is known for his histrionics (happily he's got me on ignore so he can't see me calling him a shouty bellend) Sakho does look awkward. Any numpty can see that. It is true though that his team mates have a lot of faith in him as he seems to be the key defensive outlet. Hey ho. Of course I'm happy so long as he he doesn't fuck up big time - Which up until now he hasn't.

He has had some wobbly moments but he has looked better and better this season.

His passing is exceptional if you avoid looking at how he does it and just concentrate on where the ball was and where it goes and the difficult of the pass.

Unfortunately he will always look awkward on the ball.

He just looks fucking weird when on the ball.

His technique makes him look very awkward - but having said that, he rarely gives the ball away so no complaints from me.

Big fan of Sakho.

Bollocks. Go back to your cooking Red ! 😉

Ha ha! As it happens I was thinking of posting my lobster bisque recipe soon.

Seriously though I do like him - Carra calls him a 'beast' and he's not done anything that bad but you have to admit there is something slightly hap-hazard about his style of play. Thing is though he does get the job done which I guess is all that really matters.

I think Sakho is rapidly growing into a magnificent player for us, and is definitely a CB in the mould that Rodgers wants. His range of passing for a CB is marvellous. I love him.

What with Sakho's perceived awkwardness, Hendo's gambol, Mig's nose picking, Gerrard's ridiculous low brow and Studge's shit goal celebrations we have a team with some weird tics. Add in Mr Rodgers' shit garb and Brent speak and it's no wonder we're a punters delight.

Yep, Sakho is a marvellous centre back, and one of the best passers in the squad. As I've been saying for months, I believe hes our best centre back, and he should be a permanent fixture at centre back for years to come.
