The next month for 4,5 & 6th.

Spurs: Liverpool: City:
Chelsea 0pts Newcastle 1pts Blackburn 1pts?
Blackpool 1pts Fulham 3pts West ham 1pts
Man City 1pts Spurs 3pts Everton 3pts
Liverpool 0pts Villa 3pts Spurs 1pts
Birmingham 3pts Bolton 3pts

5 points ( Finishing on 60pts) 10 points (Finishing on 62pts) 9 points (Finishing on 64 points)

So fifth place it is, unless we win all four of our remaining fixtures, which I suppose is more than possible, alas even it comes down to GD, City are current at 20, whilst were on 12 and spurs 8.

To be fair i don't know what to expect of either spurs or City, neither have been convincing since the turn of the year,so fourth may still yet be there for the taking...

Dzeko looks to have put paid to your forecast HC
Blackburn 0-1 ManCity

What sort of mug would do this mid a city match, anyway!

Pah

Luckily my high tech formula compensates for this.

It simply means that city will draw with Everton.. 😉

City can't win more than 1 of their last 5 if we are going to get 4th. That aint happenin.

I expect them to lose against Everton and Bolton, and possibly to Spurs. But West Ham and Stoke will mean 6 points.

I'd be shocked at this stage if we got 4th but I think we could do 5th and considering our position when Kenny took over that would be some degree of success and good for moral .

we won't get 4th and i care little about europe if it isn't the champions league. happy with either 5th or 6th considering the first half of our season

Agreed. Finishing above Spurs would do wonders for our moral, given the start we had. Also to finish above Spurs we need to beat Spurs which would mean the King has 13 points out of 15 against our competition for the top 6 which is a great record.

Well, at one point we thought we'd no chance of European football for a year and now it looks like we could scrape into the Europa League.

That's like being thinking you won't be alowed to eat cheese for a year and then being told that you can but it has to be nob cheese.

I do hate it being on Thursday nights but the nob cheese is a bit strong.Stronger even than gorgonzola perhaps.

Its hardly wensleydale though is it avvy?

p.s. i know nothing of cheese. Is wensleydale good?

All strong cheese essentially is cheese gone bad. That's what makes it so good.

Like a scarlet woman

So bad it's good

It was very good, actually.

Once I'd convinced myself that I wasnt going to die from eating it; though I did have worries from being murdered by tapeworms.

I did the Premiership predictor thing on the BBC the other day, and had us finishing one point above Spurs in fifth. City were a long way ahead of us though.

Blackpool, Blackburn and Wigan went down.

United won the league by three points from Chelsea.

We beat Newcastle, btw, but only drew at Fulham.

You can probably lock the thread now.

Oh and this was the league table as of the 4th of January.

Spurs can fuck off if they think they deserve to be in the CL

1 Man Utd 20 24 44
2 Man City 21 17 41
3 Arsenal 20 20 39
4 Tottenham20 7 36

5 Chelsea 20 18 35

6 Sunderland21 2 30
7 Bolton 21 5 29
8 Stoke 21 0 27
9 Liverpool 19 -1 25

Between then and now we've played City, Utd, Chelsea, Arsenal too! ( AND TAKEN 10 points from those 12!)

Out GD has skyrocketed too, which could be important come the final day of the season.

So IF we manage to win our last three games and score 11 goals more than we concede we will have beaten Rafa's finish last season by one point.

1 Chelsea 38 71 86
2 Man Utd 38 58 85
3 Arsenal 38 42 75
4 Spurs 38 26 70
5 Citeh 38 28 67
6 Villa 38 13 64
7 L'pool 38 26 63

Why would having a better goal difference help us beat Rafa's finish by one point??????

Okay.
So IF we manage to win our last three games and score 12 goals more than we concede we will have beaten Rafa's finish last season by one point and one goal.

My point is, hopefully, clear though.

Despite our terrific finish from January 6th onward we are still struggling to match the same overall result as Rafa managed in our out-and-out disaster of a season. Thankfully all the other teams 4th-10th have been crap too.

But we finished 7th and we could end up 5th. Surely position is more important than points?

oh , I thought your point was that Roy was shit , rafa a bit better and kenny putting both in their place ! .
