With player inflation as it is £40m plus is a good deal. FFS they're talking about Inaki Williams for £50m and he has only 2 goals to his name and 6 assists. The Chinese will pay £40m plus.

Alex Oxlade Chamberlain

Down to the last 15 months of his contract, reportedly wants to move away from the Arse as he isn't getting games or developing. For all Arsenal's mediocrity he's actually been one of their better players. worth a punt surely for the right price?
Is he a genuine upgrade?

How has he been performing in a central role? I haven't seen much of him since he was a promising winger?

This could have similarity with the Clyne signing. Talented, experienced, young english player, with a year left on his contract. I can see FSG getting hard for it and for £15M odd it's a no-brainer.

The only issue is can we offer him enough? He will want more appearances and consistency of position. Where is that for us? Mane dominates the attacking right midfield slot. Lallana's undroppable. Wijnaldum and Can are already competing. There's certainly room for midfield additions and the squad needs expanding. I'm just not sure how we can sell it. He's already playing for a club which regularly finishes above us, so its not like we can sell the Liverpool experience. I suppose if Wenger is leaving then he may have upheaval regardless of whether he stays or decides to leave. I tend to think he will wait and see what happens over the summer. With Sanchez and Ozil looking likely to depart, as well as the possibility of a new manager coming in, he could easily become a first choice regular next season.

Our current batch of players are not good enough, that much is certain. So why should any of them think they have the right to keep their place? We should be looking at consistency, and not who performs against the Arsenals and Chelseas.

In terms of performance ratings over 5 matches I'll rather a 8-8-9-9-8 than a 10-6-9-10-6. Especially when the 6s come against shit teams which our players seem to find it hard to motivate themselves against. Ox looks like he gives a shit most of the time. If he is the former in terms of ratings I'll even drop Lallana for him.
