Down to the last 15 months of his contract, reportedly wants to move away from the Arse as he isn't getting games or developing. For all Arsenal's mediocrity he's actually been one of their better players. worth a punt surely for the right price?

Yeah I've been on him (not literally) for a while. i really like him; if he played every week, rather than the in/out nature of his role at Arsenal, he'd be a top player.

He comes with the English premium though, but is still only 23 so definitely worth a look.

We had this discussion in January, I'd still be all over signing him, won't happen though.

Would be excellent in one of the two "box to box" positions and would provided much needed quality cover to Lallana and Wijnaldum.

Yeah, would easily sign him. Thought he was Arsenals best player on Tuesday.
If Wenger leaves he'll probably sign a new contract. Hopefully it drags on and he can leave for 20 mill this summer.

Since Wenger has started him week in, week out - he's been one of the few players who've tried to stop the rapid decline. Some laughed at his fit against Ozil in Munich 3 weeks ago, but that's the passion and frustration at his team not giving it their all ...

I think he'd be a really good signing ... kid is well talented.

He's fairly good mates with Hendo and Lallana, and he's said he's keen to experience different training and tactical ideas, so there's a decent chance he'll be drawn to us. But where would he play? Like most young players of his quality, he's grown tired of being used here and there in the team and sees his move as a chance to secure a settled position, whereas I suspect we wouldn't offer him that. I suppose the fluidity of forward play might solve that, but he'd surely want to be a regular.

I'm not saying I wouldn't like him in the squad, but considering his position, who does he replace in our starting 11? More bench time for him if we bought him.

We'll hopefully play 50-60 games next season. Doubt it will be any problem getting games regularly.

He'd add pace to the side, and greater physical strength. That's certainly appealing. I'm just not sure about where he'd play. We got Sturridge because we offered him the chance to play as a central striker. Oxlaide-Chamberlain isn't going to replace Mane or Coutinho, and he's not going to play as a central striker, but the rumours are all about his desire to move somewhere where he'd be given a certain role in the team.

He'd be another Lallana in my eyes, capable to play on the wing, but also in the midfield three as the most advanced. So, not a single cemented position, but he wouldn't be a utility player, I think thats the main thing he wants to move away from.

Versatile, skilful, strong and - if the interviews I've seen are anything to go by - carrying a mature head on his shoulders even though he's still in his early 20s. I've wondered for some time whether Wenger's ongoing reluctance to give him a regular spot in the team was one symptom that he (Wenger) is passing his sell-by date. The Ox is definitely worth serious consideration IMO.

This. I doubt he'd be an automatic starter for us and might want that. English premium, plus Arsenal probably wouldn't sell to us. I'd take him on the cheap if it were an option, but don't think he's great.

Some Ox news from the Echo, but good to see that we're also after Naby Keita.

Liverpool face big battle to land Leipzig's Naby Keïta this summer

Liverpool face some serious competition for the signature of RB Leipzig midfielder Naby Keita.
Jurgen Klopp is a big admirer of the Guinea international, who has enjoyed a fine season for the Bundesliga high-flyers and has been heavily scouted by the Reds.
However, the ECHO understands that German giants Bayern Munich are currently the front-runners to secure his services this summer.
Borussia Dortmund, Atletico Madrid and Arsenal have also shown interest in the 22-year-old, who has impressed in a holding midfield role for Leipzig since arriving from Red Bull Salzburg in June 2016.

Represented by Bjorn Bezemer, Keita has the same agent as Liverpool winger Sadio Mane but the Reds would need to secure Champions League football to have any realistic hope of winning the race for his signature.
Klopp is keen to strengthen his midfield options this summer and Liverpool are monitoring Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s situation after it emerged that the Arsenal midfielder wants to quit the Emirates.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain of Arsenal celebrates his side's first goal during the Premier League match between Manchester United and Arsenal
The England international’s current deal expires in 2018 and he has no intention of signing a contract extension as he looks to embark on a new challenge.
Back in December, Klopp dismissed as “nonsense” speculation that Liverpool were planning a £20million January swoop for Oxlade-Chamberlain. The former Southampton trainee was never on Klopp’s wish-list for the winter window, which closed without the Reds making any new additions to their squad.
The ECHO understands that Oxlade-Chamberlain is not one of the Reds’ main summer targets but if the Gunners agree to sell then he could become an option.

He's a good player.

But questions, for the price we'd have to pay, does he improve our first XI or merely bolster our squad?

Also he needs regular first team football, which has been the issue in his time at Arsenal, if he comes as a first XI signing, who's he replacing?

Finally, is he solving a problem we actually have? If we address the real areas of concern first, add him to the squad then I'm on board.

Bit of an Elephant in the room here - he's better than anything we currently have
Really? He's a wide midfielder yeah? So we have a set of interchangeable wide midfielders like Firmino, Mane, Coutinho and Lallana. Better than all of them?
