Real Madrid did lose 1-3 at home to Juve though. Guess it depends on how many of their injured players Bayern can recover.

On a sidenote, Bale's days there are numbered right? Hasn't been involved much in the CL knockout matches - limited to bench/sub roles.

Got to be licking our lips after that.

Hopefully Madrid can hang on and go through as Bayern and superior.

The big difference for us is that we don't miss that many chances lately, Salah is deadly and our other goals are worked so well they are usually tap ins.

No6 just got a lot closer.

Watching other teams try and counter attack is funny.

And when they choose not to exploit space that's right in front of them. Muller was standing in acres of space when the ball came to him on the right, Marcello was on a wander upfield and he passes it laterally inside. Any of our front 3, and even our FBs would have been driving into that space time and again. I was scratching my head wondering why they didn't attack properly. We're spoiled.

I watched that semi-final, how bad are those teams ? - how has that Real Madrid won the last 2 CL finals ? - I just don't get it, Bayern are running on a very old Ribery, and Madrid seem to be doing the best impression of a Jose team - fuck all passing just defending with 6. I just wish we could have qualified for the CL' in the past barren years like Arsenal were doing for 20 years or so under Wenger. We just needed a decent manager after Rafa left with European know how. Fuck this lot.

I assumed Bale was injured, wonder where he'll end up. He seems like a very Mourinho signing

Real please. They'll think they have to just turn up to win. Bayern are better and, as mentioned, have players to come back.

I picked Bayern but picked I post game... I don't think their tie is over yet but... it is looking like Real...

In truth, I think we might be the best team in Europe, or put another way for 60 minutes last night we played the very most exciting truly lethal footy i've seen any team play for years and years...

But these thoughts are still early.... we haven't even got to the final yet... so fingers crossed...

If we were to make the final I would prefer Bayern primarily because I really fucking detest Madrid, among teams I hate they rank up near United.

IF we could beat Ronaldo and all his fascist cunt teammates it would make me very happy indeed but at the same time, I am superstitious as fuck and the last time we played a European final it was against another Spanish team who were looking to make it 3 in a row...

Beating Real would be a sensational feeling but losing to them would be far worse than say losing to Bayern.

however, in general, It is very pleasant to be able to roll thoughts like these around in my head again...not the losing thought... not that thought, that's not a nice thought... just being able to think about competing is nice.... it has been a long while...

Wow. I can't believe Madrid are winning this 2-1. The amount of chances they've conceded (even whilst trying to sit back and counter). They've been desperately poor defensively. And Navas looks as assured as Karius in goal.

I suppose there's 2 ways at looking at it.

Real are playing shite and STILL winning. Imagine when they play well.

Or that Bayern are missing chances we wouldn't miss and we want to play against this generous Real team. As opposed to Bayern, who on another day, would be battering Real. Especially, with their full team.
Yep. This is it for me.

RM haven't really looked all that all season, not in La Liga, not when getting spanked by Spurs and certainly not at home to Juve or last night vs. Bayern. People can suggest they have another level to to go to but to me they seem like the aging team past their best that their performances this season suggest they are.

Bayern were incredibly profligate last night and with injured players returning should be even stronger, I hope RM can hold out in the return leg.

I'd definitely prefer RM over Bayern in the final (assuming we make it), I think we could rip that defence apart whilst maybe we would concede a couple to their individual brilliance. I'd love to see us repeat that 5-2 Roma scoreline !

I think a lot of people are underestimating Real Madrid here. When it comes to finals they have some big game players and a lot more experience than we do. Apparently they haven't lost a final since 1981 (against us coincidentally) so they know how to get across that line.

Madrid will have never come up against a team like us. We’re going to go at them like mike Tyson in his prime.
