The not so Official January Transfer Rumour Thread

Saw this yesterday. I'd be a bit sceptical of that. It was probably a cover-up to soften the blow of our shitty summer window.

Possibly. I do remember however when Rafa tried to buy him before he went to Valencia. Baros won the golden boot thingy at the Euros and Valencia were tryin to sign him, they saw sense and bought Villa instead :-(.

Yep, I vaguely remember that alright. That was probably another catastrophic fuck up on our part.

To be fair I think Villa didn't want to come.

Villa, Alves, Martinez etc all players we came very close to signing, the latter was the 'back-up' to fekin Aqua!

Villa didn't want to come because he didn't like The Beatles. Kenny Dalglish offered to take him to Boyzone was a deal breaker.

Can you all stop fucking taking about a deal that didnt happen a year and a fucking half ago in a rumour thread for deals that might happen in the next 26 days.
Dickheads.

Good call Woland, he reminds me of Steve Heighway in that he's very quick, very intelligent and doesn't overdo the step-overs, fancy footwork etc. Southampton are also being strongly linked with Hooper of Celtic who I've been banging on about for a few seasons.

Edit: Sorry just realised it was Modo who suggested Buckley and not Woland - sorry peeps.

We're linked with that albino kid from Derby who is supposed to be ace
Will Hughes is supposedly the dog's bollix. I've seen him a few times and was not overly impressed BUT I'm gonna assume that was just bad timing on my behalf because some clips of him I've seen he looks quite a talent.

signed for Brighton again.

FFS.

Yup I noticed him when we played them a few years ago. Though he was better than Downing.

High praise indeed

Hahaha...well considering his £20 million price tag etc, I thought how the fuck didn't we buy this lad who's causing us tons of trouble on the wing. And he was like 20 years old or something.

Hahaha! Jack Sullivan just tweeted that WHU have signed Chamakh on loan.
Added that he's very sorry and that it wasnt his pick.

Bet Chamakh feels welcome...

As most posters are aware I'm a huge fan of Zaha and I reckon he'll become a huge star; Ince, Buckley, Adomah (Bristol City), Henry (Millwall), Knockaert (Leicester) & Aluko (Hull City) are also probably capable of playing at EPL levels.

The talent in the lower divisions is criminally overlooked.

*I didn't include Sam Byram of Leeds in the list of wide men because Leeds aren't sure if he's a right back or midfield so I rarely get to see him play the same position twice in a row.

You should seriously consider scouting as a permanent job. Or attend an open forum with Brendan and just hand him your list of players.

Brendan Rodgers has told fans not to expect too much activity in the remainder of the transfer window - but revealed there could yet be one more signing.

The Reds have already strengthened their attacking ranks with the early signing of England international Daniel Sturridge from Chelsea.
But asked about any further business at his pre-Mansfield press conference, Rodgers told reporters: "We are not going to have a lot of money to do anything [else] in the window.
"We won't have that in January. There might be another but there is not much more business to be done."

It would be the perfect job for me.

I'm watching Walsall v Portsmouth tonight although there will be precious little talent on show. Strangely the best 2 players on show will be WBA players as both teams have an Albion player on loan and they're both decent (at 1st divison level).

You wonder if Spurs have a plan at all, they seem to be signing every midfielder out there.
Good move for them though, he's a great prospect
