The New Owners Q&A live

was impressed with a lot of the callers

a) they made it clear that roy is out of depth
one caller actually shared my view point in that in all the years I've supported liverpool I've never wanted a manager sacked, until now.

b) they made it clear the magnitude of the job to take us back to the top
they know this already but it was nice of them to hear it diretly from fans.
several callers bringing up the wage bill of chelsea and man city.
one caller actually asks if they are going to go down the road of purchasing big stars or paying a premium for world class kids.

c) they made it clear fans hate the idea of a shared stadium
herny responded that if the fans hate it, it's a none starter

good questions by the majority of people that called in

Yeah, good stuff. I said in another thread that people had to take action to get Budgie removed, and this is a good start indeed. Henry will be under no illusions how badly Purssslow fucked up by appointing this useless old twat.

I feel quietly confident that he'll be gone - at the very latest - by the end of the season.

I hope so.

I know the squad needs a lot of work, but I don't think it's quite as inconsistent as we've seen this year and a better manager would've have us with more points right now.

I would go so far as to say that Fat Sam and Chris Hughton would have us with more points than we have now.

The moment I saw 'Thetford' I went 'oh noes' as I knew it would be some rubbish.

It would be someone close to Norwich, wouldnt it?

Good job to the guy from Bristol though.

Yeah, the end of the season would be my guess now too.

I also think that they're very much in this for the long term; Henry himself noted that that the short-term approach wasn't what they had in mind, even if the fans crave immediate improvement.

You don't talk like that if you're thinking about quick profits in a few years.

That's goo,of course...but it would also suggest that short-term disasters like Roy's tenure matters very litle to them in the long-run.

I also think (and hope) that things go well; because Henry seems a lot sharper than many owners we've seen, and you'd have to pry Liverpool out of his cold dead hans.

'Some players that some people might say are overpaid.'

So who's he talking about? Carra? Joe Cole? Magic? Kuyt? Torres? Gerrard? Or does he mean the likes of Jovanovic, Agger and others who are on high wages considering how seldom they play?

It has got to be the latter. I don't think I've ever heard or read anyone saying that the likes of Torres, Gerrard and Carra are overpaid?

That's all good and well Avvy, but they must then ensure that Roy has no say on transfers in january.

I assume(hope) that was one of the reasons Comolli was appointed so quickly.

matt (the tv presenter) was being an arse by filtering the questions

caller - 'why was roy hired in the first place with his record (paraphrasing)'

matt - 'roy wasn't hired by the current owners, next question'

okay, fair enough the current owners couldn't answer that but ian ayre could.

Did he have a Jewish accent and a lisp?

Ha. I take that as a given.

I just don't see the point in wasting the rest of this season by sticking with someone who everyone knows is not the man to rebuild us.

I respect the fact that the owners wanted to be measured and pragmatic about things instead of coming in all guns glazing. But I think they've had sufficient time to see that Roy isn't working and needs to be moved on.

i dunno. i think he might be trying to suggest that hodgson's got a jewish accent, but that can't be right. in fact, i don't think i've ever heard a jewish accent outside of monty python sketches and properly orthodox rabbis.
