He is but that's to supplement/improve the attack. AM and CM aren't convincing at all

KDB is done, Silva moving on, and the return of Gundo was not a success, which could not have been too surprising.
I guess he was a stop gap.
They will likely make a proper attempt at Wirtz, who will replace KDB as the attacking playmaker.
If they also get Bruno G from Newcastle, who they are also after, that is already two very good pieces sorted out.
A younger lad could come up to fill that third spot. If it doesn't work out, they will just go into the market again.

Thing is where we have a very odd shift of gear from buying at TKMAX (think endo, robbo) to then going to Ralph Lauren (Alisson, VVD and more resecntly szobo)

AM is one position I don't think we need to touch. We have Szobs, Jones & Elliot. Jones is brilliant when he plays there. It is almost every other position we are lacking credible options. Naturally there are some great players there - but we are budget limited, let's fix the glaring holes (LB, CF, DM depth, CB depth) before we start adding luxury signings

The annoying thing was in contract situation was rumbling in for ages at Napoli. He was on something like 20k a week the whole time and wasn't satisfied. The whole world and his dog knew he was due a move to the first big club who came in for him and his skill-set would apply in every league.

I agree we need another 10, but I don't think either of those players are gettable unfortunately.
I think unless slot wants to completely oust szob, then we're shopping a tier or 2 below those types of players.

One thing for me is sure - Danns' lack of game time this season through injuries means we need to sign. I hope we get him a season long loan somewhere - as i'm sure many of us and many in the club thought he might be a first team squad player by now.
Not sure on others in @i_rushie 's list but Ekitike and Delap would be high up my list. David would be a financial play if we were to sell both of Jota & Darwin to free up spaces at #9.
