We are seeing this becoming more and more of a trend when not so technical sides come against stronger technically superior opposition, stick 11 players behind the ball and stifle out the opposition. We saw this happening a few times in the world cup and it was very painful to watch.

Credit to Rangers for getting a point.. But is football starting to become boring and predictable with these type of tactics... ??

We have seen plenty of teams do the same type of thing to us over the years, and it frustrates the shite out of me seeing this happen. makes for boring shite football matches..

I enjoyed that match. Maybe it's a combination of being used to the shite Hula Hoops and Rafadyce served up for 10 years and seeing a manc get really badly hurt, but I did enjoy that match.

Hope Valencia gets well. He's not really a Manc player you'd wish serious harm on (see Neville or Rooney).

As for the thread. Whilst I agree that I wouldn't want to see my team set up like that (and by my team, I'm talking about the one I manage on FM2010), I can why teams set up like that. What else do you expect Rangers to do? Go out there and try and play attacking football? They'd be smashed 5-0.

This has been going on for years though, It's a pendulum. There'll always be teams that do this. Not all will have a manager as good as maureen though and get away with it!

ManUre didn't help themselves with Ginsoak's team selection last night. Making ten changes suggests he underestimated Rangers, not a clever thing to do at any time but especially not when his own one-time assistant is in charge of them. The Mancs got what they deserved, except for poor Valencia.

I'm not convinced Fergie underestimated Rangers. They got beat fairly recently by Celtic and this would still have been in his mind, but I think he expects to sail through the group and a draw at their place is far from a disaster. He also picked a similar team which beat Chelsea in the Community Shield so he had a reason to show confidence in his squad.

He wants his players fresh for Sunday, because at the moment United are dropping too many Premiership points for his liking at the moment, and he'll think a big win against Liverpool will restore confidence. That's my guess anyway.
