The human blur

Good to see him progress as he’s been utter shite anytime he’s played for us.

Yes, if only that 16/17 year old could've looked world class for us in the 310min he's played.

Oh Ben - you silly angry bird looking twat, now you'll need to consider your future in the sport.

He was labeled a reason we could move Salah on and ready to be a serious squad player. He was absolute hoop for every one of those 310m and looked completely out of his depth unlike other young players given similar chances to show glimpses of promise. Hopefully he’ll continue to develop but ya, a long long way to go to make it at LFC.

Have you been on the Coote tonight?

No he wasn't and no he didn't. Hyperbole.

Doak looked electric initially, then I think got injured and came back with some ineffective performances that suggested he understandably needed more development at this level. He certainly did not shit throughout.

He’s developing at pace, looks to be making a similar impact as Elliot did at Blackburn.

I think I’d like to see him get a PL loan next season if he develops to a level where someone would take a punt on him.

He's just turned 19. Why is everyone writing him off? He's following a similar path as Harvey.

Would rather keep him myself if he keeps pumping in those performances.

I see I quiffed on the Harvey comparison. Was frustrated at all the sell comments.

We are aligned. Why sell at a weirdly low price for someone who possibly has some skills in the bank that are incredibly hard to find. If he isn't ready to be part of our first team squad next year, the best thing to do is get him a loan somewhere that helps him continue to shine.

Exciting times ahead with him, Rio, Danns & even Koumas looking sharp.

It's OK. The assist was a cross the keeper parried. Not enough to make us feel he can make a step up in fairness.

We've been here where we hope these lads can make it. The hope can deceive. Sometimes you need tangible proof a lad will make the step up. Fingers crossed it comes for this lad. We are not seeing it at the Mo.

I think as with many young players, there's not enough end product in his game at the moment, but he's hardly unique in that respect. The young Cristiano was all feints and stepovers and little end product, he didn't do too badly in the end, and Ben at least looks like he knows how to pass the ball, something Ronaldo never did learn.
I would want us to hold on to him and allow him to develop, but I don't think he's ready to be an LFC first-team player (or even regular bench option) just yet. Another loan next year, ideally at PL level, would make sense, unless he really kicks on in the second half of the season like Harvey did. If he does kick on then he can put himself in the frame for regular minutes under Slot.
