Liverpool's Xabi Alonso wants a World Cup ban on horns hugely popular with South Africa fans.
Alonso, with Spain for the Confederations Cup which is being used as a dry run for next year's finals, said: "They make a terrible noise and it's not a good idea to have them on sale outside the grounds. Here's a piece of advice for FIFA - try to ban them."
The metre-long plastic vuvuzela horns have been blaring non-stop during Confederations Cup games in South Africa.
The local World Cup committee insist they are a traditional African instrument. Critics claim they were imported from China as plastic toys just four years ago.
A fifa spokesman said it would look at complaints.
