Yep. Won the physical battle last night with Cardozo, who was extremely quiet, and found the time to go forward and cause them a bit of bother in their own area too (e.g.he was up there challenging for the cross when Deadly scored).

For the price and as 4th choice, he's been excellent and as close as you could get for a Sami replacement.

Looks like he really gives 110% every time.

Someone said in another thread that he looks like he loves playing for us, which I think is spot on. That spreads to others around him too.

I wonder why he's slipped by the radar for so long and why he failed at Rangers? Mind you, didn't Preston or someone turn down Sami after giving him a trial?

Yeah you're right Avey, I always thought it was someone from the lower leagues:

In 1995 at the age of 22, he went for a trial at Newcastle United, his first taste of English football. Hyypiä said "They (Newcastle) certainly helped my career. I had a two-week trial in 1995 under Kevin Keegan and it gave me an insight into English football. I was a young player in Finland and I didn't really expect it to lead to anything. I just went for the experience, but it was good experience and I enjoyed my time there. It helped me a lot at the time to see a big English club at close hand and I always look forward to going back."

As far as Kyrgiakos is concerned, maybe playing with better players at LFC has helped him, or maybe the far higher demands of the Prem have actually brought the best out of him. Either way (or both), long may it continue.
