he cost us a goal that wasn't given.

he was really good though. we have so missed that kind of presence in defence this year.

i don't think we can even think about a skrtel/agger partnership as a future. we need to buy bigger players to compliment agger, with skrtel as back up.

Is proving not to be half bad. Keep it up whatever your name is. What did he cost?
poor crouch he was in the greek's pocket ;he should watch his back passes to reina almost cost us a goal

Reina should have dealt with it instead of fucking about.

Zorba has had two pretty solid games but he's also had a few shit ones earlier this season. It's been an encouraging improvement and his aerial ability has been pretty important to us but I'll be pretty reluctant to go past very cautious optimism for a good while.

He has at least one major mistake in him per game

Absolutely. Our next central defender should follow the Sami blueprint. If we can get another aerial beast, then Danny could really blossom.

I'm not having this "disaster waiting to happing" blah.

He's been more than decent for us in time of extreme need.

He can fucking head a ball, at least.

We have improved in set pieces over the past two games when he has played. Apart from the goal conceded against Stoke, we have been fairly good defending high balls. Which has been one of our major weaknesses this season.

He put in a very good performance tonight.

To be fair our entire back 4 looked very solid, and for once this season i wasn't shitting it everytime they had the ball.

He was poor about Fulham, but then again so was everyone. Apart from that he has been very good for us.
Yeah same here. It was good that we were
going at them at the end instead of sitting back like we did against Stoke.

Agger didn't cover himself in glory a lot of times this season either. Let's enjoy The Greek playing well instead of trying to label him a disaster waiting to happen. I realise you didn't originally call him that but you know what I mean. Let's enjoy the clean sheet.

Amazing team performance considering we were missing 5 of our best players mate. I'm made up, and hopefully we can go on a run from here (Wolves and Bolton next)

Yuuuup !

It's no coincidence his good games have come against teams that utilise the long-ball (Stoke, Bolton, Spurs) where he has to deal with a huge target man. Incidentally, I thought Rafa's decision to let our centre-backs interchange so that Kyrgiakos could manmark Crouch was an excellent one. He's good for these games, is dominant in the air, and gives great presence. Against a partnership of say Rooney & Berbatov, he'd get murdered.

S'pose that's what you get for 1.5M though.

I didn't think spurs played much hoofball this season to be honest. We've played it much more than them this year

Kyrgiakos did ok tonight.

Are you racist if you use the term "the Greek" all the time just because you can't be arsed spelling the name Kyrgiakos?

I was referring to the game tonight, which was one of the greatest exhibitions of long-ball football you're ever likely to see.
