The goals - What happened?

My take?

Goal 1: Primarily on Henderson who lost his marker. Lovren tried to cover and failed as well. Wijnaldum couldn't hold Llorente and he just toe-poked it.

Goal 2: Milner is mostly at fault but at the same time why the fuck is Milner marking Llorent who's about a head taller than him? Klavan was in no mans land and Wijnaldum again did nothing. Henderson not closing down the cross.

Goal 3: What a mess! Starts with Henderson who let's Fer turn. Then Lovren who lets the their player turn as well and gets dribbled past. Klavan is actually unlucky that the ball winds up with Sigurdsson.

We're shit at defending.

Are we really ? - there is more to this story - it is more to do with the fact that our players are so far up the pitch and then have to run back in numbers; it is an exhausting process and when they are back in position they are not composed quickly enough to defend at their maximum ability. That is the truth - otherwise you need to look at the way we defended against Man City - in that game the team as a whole were not bombing up the pitch they were more reserved. If you play a system where the players are at 100mph for most of the game then they will make these silly errors. Does not matter how great the defenders are - this will ALWAYS happen.

I thought Clyne was partly at fault for the 2nd goal – stood off the Swansea player too much and allowed him to feed his teammate who crossed the ball quickly.

Turn it around. Number two is a great move from a team that dare to move People forward. If we scored this we would be all over the Place creaing ourselves. They scored because they were brave.

There's plenty of blame to go around, but just have a look at Lovren on all three goals.

Had to get injections to be able to play. Looked like it affected him.

Yeah we are shit at defending
It's not exactly new news or a secret

I like Clyne alot, but by his standards I think he's had a fairly mediocre season. He made mistakes in the first game against Arsenal and has been pretty hit and miss since.

He had more of the ball and more space than anyone yesterday, but he was either wasteful, hesitant or just a plain coward when it came to showing some intent and initiative.

I thought so too. I don't think we would fare worse with TAA on the pitch in this game; in fact his crosses might have been more dangerous.

Somebody please explain to me why Mignolet falls on the ground for the first goal. It's been fucking killing me since the second it happened, and in every replay since.

Why's the fucking diving there? It's such a shit piece of decision-making.

Go look at it.

Only thing I can think of is that the first flick on from Llorente is going towards the corner. But yeah, awful decision making.

To be fair the second goal was a well worked goal cracking cross and header, very difficult to defend, very similar to our winner against Man City. Not surprised that Clyne had an injection to play, it looked as if it was Mogadon he was so bad.
