Gary Neville has admitted that he has changed his mind about Liverpool’s chances of winning the Premier League title, after Tottenham Hotspur’s and Chelsea’s improvements.

“Is it a season where Lampard and Jose Mourinho could be up against each other in a title race? We’d never have thought it,” he said.

“We thought Pep Guardiola and Jurgen Klopp, it would just be a two horse race.

“Then, having watched City in the first two weeks of the season, I thought Liverpool would just run away with it.

“But not now, not with the Van Dijk injury, I just think that exposes them a lot more.”

Thanks Gary 'Manchester United Will Probably Win League Before Liverpool' Neville.

Evra also piped up he wouldn’t consider us a great team unless we won 3 on the bounce.

I was watching that - he was asked is this the greatest ever Liverpool team and tbf he said 'given the history and success they would need to win a bit more to truly challenge what were very successful teams in the past' or something to that effect. He & Freddie L both said & agreed - they are clearly one of the amazing teams of this era.

with the title of this tread " The gift that keeps on giving" I thought it was about Diogo Jota... lol

Thing is I have to agree with Evra,(That taste in my mouth after that) but it is true, unless we win the title again, this season. It will be looked at as as one off (For the title) much like Leicester City.

The Title, and a strong showing in the CL at least

Cant argue with him there, we've had some ridiculously successful sides in the past, gonna have to keep winning to be up there with them.

Yes because Leicester, like us, reached a CL final, then won a CL the following year, then a Club World Cup, then the Premiere League title.
Very similar to our record over a 3 year period.

And 97 points, followed by 99 points and being unbeaten at home in the league for like 3 years.

The 97points means nothing unless it is pinned to Titles i.e (97 points and won the title) As for the Leicester City remark I did say...

I can’t be the only one that read that as “97 points means nothing unless it is pinned to titties”.....

Jesus, I must proof read... But in my defence I am not the only one who makes mistake (although I make more than most 🙁)
