Robbie, when are you going to fix the leaky roof and how come you've put my rent up?So - if you could ask Robbie Fowler and Ian Rush any question, what would you ask?
RushWho is Liverpools greatest ever striker? No bullshit, just one name.
They would both say Sir RogerWho is Liverpools greatest ever striker? No bullshit, just one name.
I'd like Ian to ask Robbie if living in Thailand was like living in a foreign country.
I'd say - 'You are both fucking boss - Can I buy you a pint/schooner'?So - if you could ask Robbie Fowler and Ian Rush any question, what would you ask?

The King of course. Rushy was the best for goalscoring pure and simple, but for his all-round game it has to be Kenneth Mathieson Dalglish and I'm sure Rushy for one would endorse that.
I was having this discusson with my Dad recently and he's watched all the greats play from the 1950's. Based on footballing ability only, he regards Suarez as the best player Liverpool have ever had and I find it hard to disagree.
I'd say - 'You are both fucking boss - Can I buy you a pint/schooner'?
Souness?See now on technical ability maybe, but...
It's not hard for a player of his or Gerrards ability to shine in our current team/squad.
It's takes a footballing genius to consistently stand out in what was considered one of the best club sides in the world at the time - Kenny Dalglish, Graeme Souness, Alan Hansen did.
Not knocking Suarez's technical ability or skill though. I'd just rather have any one of those three today than Suarez cos they brought more to the team on it and did what needed to be done off it - shut their mouths.
Souness?
Souness is exactly the type of dominating CM that we need and miss. He'd instantly transform us.Yep. The fact that he was a vicious b@stard couldn't then, and shouldn't now, disguise the fact that he could really play.
Absolutely. Think Xabi Alonso with much sharper studs and a better eye for goal.
Actually it wasn't all that relevant. Souey did fuck all wrong while he played for us. Kind of got to me the ' and did what needed to be done off it - shut their mouths.' bit. But that was after his initial managerial stint with us and shouldn't take anything away from what he did for us in the 80s.Yep. In fact, think of Gerrard, but better!

big call. was he better than gerrard at gerrard's peak? I didn't see Souness play, but at his peak gerrard was the best player in the world (or there abouts).
Well I'm not doubting Gerrards prowess but whether he was best in the world at any time could have things to do with his rivals so I'm not using that as a barometer.
Souness had everything that Gerrard has. With one added bite. Controlled aggression. When Gerrard was younger he flew into tackles that were always going to get him in trouble. Souness knew when to impose himself on the game with his physicality.
He stood out in a team that was one of the greatest clubs sides of all time. I tell you what, I will do a deal. Souness was the best midfielder of his Liverpool generation and Gerrard is the best of his. Games changed and all that.
But seriously, Souness was a joy to watch, no matter what type of game he had to play - sleeves rolled up or the champagne Charlie midfielder or a mixture of both. Watch his performance against Roma in 1984. His hat trick in the European cup early rounds in 1981. The jaw breaker v Dinamo in 84 in the first leg and the revenge attacks he absorbed I. The second leg while we waltzed 4 goals past a team who were very, very good.
Souness was THAT fucking good.
