The forgotten attacker

I'm talking about the the £6.8 million man from Seville.

We're desperately looking to get another creative player into the team but we've already got Luis Alberto.

Are we really doomed if we don't manage to sign another attacker?

He had a decent pre season, seemed to be able to find players in the box, calm and composed with the ball, fine technique and an eye for goals.

Why stifle his development by signing a £20-30 million player?

Don't get me wrong, I'd be over the moon if we managed to keep Suarez and signed a £30 million player. All I'm saying is, if it doesn't happen, maybe there still is a light at the end of the tunnel.

We'll have plenty of game time for Sterling, Ibe and Alberto during the season. But we need at least 5-6 proven "quality" attackers for 4 attacking positions to have any hope to compete for Champions League. Right now we have 4: Suarez, Sturridge, Coutinho (who is still a kid, actually) and Aspas. Borini is a questions mark. We need at least 1 more player of similar quality to the 4 listed above.

Assaidi did well in his last game. Started playing better as soon as Ramadan was over, coincidence?
Still, he kinda looks like a 5 a side player, not really sure about him.

I feel Alberto and Assaidi can surprise a few if given the opportunity of extended runs in the team. But that's a long shot really, and we need slightly more proven players in the first team.

Assaidi is never going to get an extended run in the team because he just ain't good enough !

Maybe. He hasn't impressed, has he? But who knows with injuries and whatnot. I just think he needs more product to his ability. Let's not put ourselves in this position and come down to this, however.

the thing with rodgers is , he doesn't really rotate a huge amount in the league which is fair enough . So without europa league football i wonder how much we will see of alberto . Guess it depends on how far we go in the league cup .

Which is something i've wondered since we started buying all these young players and promoting from the youth team . Allen , borini , alberto , wisdom , sterling, ibe ..even coutinho , sturridge and henderson , they all need time on the pitch to see what they can really do . But can we manage to give all of them enough time or even afford to ? So far rodgers doesn't look like he will be giving them that time . Borini is a perfect example , he hasn't impressed me at all but what was the point in paying 11m for him and not giving him time ? . now when he gets a few mins here and there he is under massive pressure to perform.

So positive Ross thinks that a 17 year old will never be a regular starter for us.
So much positive energy.

We don't need to create more chances. We need a fucker who can put the ball into the net.

He'll be 21 next month and he's a bit of a project. We need to bring him along correctly - would you back us to do that ?

Why not?
Hes a footballer. If hes good hell be fine, if hes shit he wont.

I think there's more to it than that myself.

Coates is a perfect example of where we failed to develop a player at all, if we don't sign someone that's ready straight away we tend to be clueless about what to do with them

Luis Alberto is finding his feet and the lad oozes class. He's young, in a foreign country and in a tougher league. Give him time but he'd do well to take a leaf out of coutinho's book.

That's my concern.

Is he going to get games this year? If he just ends up with a few cup games then I think it'll likely be another case of the Coates.
