Either way @the new subject when you have a midfield whose capabilities in football can be attributed to there heads and strength I think we still have them beat. We may be out of form but our team is much better offensively while being not as assured defensively and with a much worse squad for set plays.

Why? Riera at the beginning of the season was healthy and ignored for no apparent reason. I think Rafa holds a grudge from Riera's wandering eyes last summer.

I thought that Maxi gave a very nice cameo last week against Bolton when he replaced Riera, very Riera like in fact.
If he can produce something similar tomorrow for the whole game then I would be hopeful of getting a good result.
Of course it remains to be seen how well he will link up with Insua, who always seems to perform better with Riera on the left wing ahead of him.
