Again I've gone back as far as is reasonable to expect people to have seen play.
If I've missed anyone please say before you vote.

Sorry boys there is only one pairing in this, and that is Hansen and Lawrenson.
There are other players, legends even, Carra and Sami, but Hansen and Lawrenson complimented each other so well, Hansen read the game , and Lawro had the legs and was such a fantastic tackler (he is a bit of a prick now, but that's something else)

regards

I went for Hansen of course, and also for Carra

Sami and Lawro were close behind though

I don't think I would have voted for him but it does seem odd that Tommy Smith hasn't been included in any category

Tommy Smiths greatest position was at inside right, only as he got older did he start moving into defence

regards

Big testament to Sami this thread, that he's in 2nd behind Hansen. A true great and personally, one of my favourite players ever.

(And a great guy).

Didn't Emlyn spend some time there?
He did, and left back, right back, centre midfield - he'd have played centre forward too if Shanks had asked him. Crazy Horse was, is and always will be my favourite LFC player.

Ah, you saved me a minute there, Vlad.

I automatically voted for Agger but it's Hansen and Sami to be honest.

Wow, Ruddock and Scales have one vote each and Phil Thompson none! This defies all logic, Thomo was a magnificent player and would be fourth on my list after Hansen, Lawro and Sami - to have him out-voted by Razor and Scales is madness.

Absolutely. Perhaps the best pairing I haveseen in a football defense.

Why have Agger, Ruddock, the Greek and Scales all got votes?

Jesus Christ.

Have you encountered KHL before?

I put a vote in for Thompson. Trophies galore
Good man Whitey, I regret not voting for him instead of Jocky as it was obvious Jocky was going to get most votes whereas Thomo struggles because the vast majority of posters don't remember his playing days.

Until owen and gerrard he was our most capped england player I believe?

Clemence obviously should have been, but that's another story.

Couldn't agree more with this. That's not to denigrate Hyppia and Carra, just that Hansen and Lawrenson had style and grace and could bring the ball out of defence as well as defend.
