Ok so let's assemble a SCM all time Liverpool team. First up the keepers. The keeper with most votes will be our number 1 and the second most will be on the bench (we will have 7 Subs).
So vote away.

We've done the thread a few times, but it's a good idea to have a vote. As long as it agrees with whom I'd pick, obv. 😉

I think it's fair to start in the televised era Sheik. Most people here have never seen Lawrence play.

I wouldn't have voted for him anyway. Just wanted the twirlies like Vladders and Ports to feel they're still 'current'.

Souness
Clemence
Hansen
Lawrenson
Barnes
Rush
Dalglish
Gerrard

Argue about the rest amongst yourselves, and see how you can shoe-horn God in

Cheeky young rip. I'm older than Vlad and I'm in no doubt about it. 8)

Take it as a compliment I assumed you weren't JJ.

Eyethangyew.

That's a particularly timely thing for you to say, given than a kid in a baby buggy took one look at me in the Post Office queue today and yelled "GRANDDAD!" ;D

How is that a compliment?
That I assumed he wasn't old?

Lucas will be in there someday...

Yeah, the day you have something other than crispy duck from the Chinese. 😉

Seeing them play should be semi-irrelevant if there's footage. I never saw liddell, souness, hughes, etc but they are all in there.

Keeper is clemence followed by reina.

and after correcting Spider's spelling of Hodgson today, could you please spell Grobbelaar correctly 😉

?

The people who've picked Reina clearly never saw Clemence!
I did, and I did. So there.

It's hard to compare, obviously, as a goalkeeper's role has changed so much since Clemence's day.

Reina's certainly the best I've seen in person. In fact after Schmeichel he's probably the second best of anyone I've seen in person.

Clemence did it for years though, despite a seemingly dodgy kick 😉

Has to be Clem, although Pepe could come close. Goalies do tend to mature well.
Grob should not be dissed on this either,I have seen him make saves any of the others would not get near, I have also seen him make Jamo like errors too. it is also fair to say Brad Friedel should be in there over one or two of the others

regards

I picked Grob. To me, he was the first modern goalie I saw, very athletic, off his line quickly, extremely vocal with the rest of the defence. People thought he was properly insane when we first signed him.
Clem was a great trad goalie and Reina is a great keeper in his own right. But, I have a soft spot for Bruce.

Haha! I knew someone would call me out on that! I've gone for Clemence on the basis he did it consistently from 1971 to the early 80's. Although I acknowledge that if Pepe were to stay as long and continue his consistency then he will definitely push Clemence for the number one LFC goalie of all time.

Pepe.

Did you not read what I just said?
Clemence

Neal Hansen Lawrenson Nicol

Callaghan Gerrrard Souness Barnes

Dalglish Rush
Good effort but the correct answer is.......................

Clemence

Hughes(Capt) Hansen Lawrenson Nicol

Gerrard Souness Barnes

Dalglish

Keegan Rush

Strongly disagree. If Hughes ever played RB it was once in a blue moon, and Dalglish was only half the player when dropped back behind the front two. I'd have Babbel at RB, but otherwise Khalido's team is defo the one IMO.

Oh, and there is no way on this planet that anyone but Souness could be skipper.
