* No MOM award given against Northampton because of the low number of votes cast, (Game 11). Bonus point given instead.

This table is not going to please everyone, but it has been a long season and we need to focus on ALL OF IT, not just Kenny's reign since January.
I'd like to give my own view and then leave the thread for people to agree or disagree.

1. Gerrard as winner: A lot of people (quite rightly) have given Lucas praise for finally showing what he is capable of. I have always backed him not least for never hiding. I would suggest that Stevie deserves this award though for keeping his form at a time when we badly struggled. Cast your mind back to those dark times when we suffered watching our team. Stevie was the only player on the park at times worthy of the shirt.

2. How unlucky is Lucas? The season ended too soon for him really. I understand that the last result may have been affected by sentiment, (was he really 2nd best player or did we all want him to beat Stevie to this award?) but he has had a very good season. Hopefully he will carry the form on and continue to improve.

3. Luis Suarez: WOW! The fact he only played a fraction of games and finished with 7 MOM performances shows what an impact he has made. Amazing.

4. Andy Carroll: Not quite the same impact but even so, he hasn't done bad just playing a handful of games. Next season should be worth waiting for.

5. Reina too many bonus points? I feel that his position was given too much of a boost by awarding a bonus point for each clean sheet. Others have also mentioned that this is down to the defence/team as a whole and perhaps the bonus point should be reduced to a third or a quarter. Please advise me on your thoughts for next year. I am happy to alter the bonus point weighting.

6. Our best defenders: Common sense says Carragher and Agger, but a look at the table reveals Glen Johnson and Soto Krygiakos; hell even Kelly before his injury showed us what he is capable of.

7. Please discuss the impact (since January / Kenny) of Flanagan, Maxi and Shelvey. Exciting times ahead.

Finally, I would like to thank everyone for voting this season and previous seasons. You make it a pleasure.
Previous winners of this game are:

2005 - Jamie Carragher
2006 - Steven Gerrard
2007 - Dirk Kuyt
2008 - Javier Mascherano
2009 - Xabi Alonso
2010 - Javier Mascherano

Please raise your glasses and toast the winner of the 2011 Player of the season award....

STEVEN GERRARD!

Thanks for running this Morse!

Says a lot about the team after Gerrard went down with his injury. EVERYONE else stepped up which resulted in no one overtaking Gerrard.

Thanks for the effort, Morse!

A few surprises there; The Greek and Ngog for example.

And here's the table as voted by SCM:
(Our score first, then morse's, and then then difference between the two)

Gerrard......60 51 +9
Meireles.....43 42 +1
Johnson.....42 33 +9
Reina.........43 50 -7
Suarez.......37 40 -3
Kelly...........31 24 +7
Torres........28 27 +1
Kuyt...........28 23 +5
Kyrgiakos...24 29 -5
Skrtel.........21 11 +10
Lucas.........16 50 -34
Carragher..13 11 +2
Maxi...........13 11 +2
Cole...........13 13 0
Carroll........13 13 0
Spearing....11 11 0
Babel.........11 5 +6
Ngog..........10 17 -7
Shelvey......10 7 +3
Flanagan......8 5 +3
Jovanovic.....8 4 +4
Mascerano...5 5 0
konchesky...3 3 0
Poulsen.......3 1 +2
Cavalieri......2 2 0
Agger..........1 2 -1
Wilson.........1 0 +1
Robinson.....1 1 0
Jones..........1 1 0
Aurelio........0 8 -8

Main differences are our love of Gerrard, Skrtel, Johnson and Babel, and our lack of love for Lucas, Reina, Ngog and Aurelio

Bloody 'ell Gerry, I knew this site weren't in love with lucas but WTF??!!

That is ridiculous.

How can we justify that on here?

Next year I believe that he will get to feel the 6CM love...lol.

Damn, we do not like lucas at all on here

Bu we do like Skrtel though.

Agger is the one that sticks out for me, for many our so called best defender languishing near the bottom of the table. I thought when he palyed he didn' do to bad but obviously not.

Jamie Carragher and Lucas Leiva have hailed Martin Skrtel after the Slovakian completed a remarkable 3591 minutes of Barclays Premier League football this term.

Skrtel and Everton's Leighton Baines were the only outfield players not to miss a minute of top-flight action in 2010-11 - and the Liverpool man's feat has not gone unnoticed in the dressing room.

"It's a fantastic achievement by Martin," Carragher said. "It's very difficult to play every match the way the modern game is with big squads and rotation.

"There's also the intensity of the games and how many knocks you can get.

"I was hoping that Leighton Baines would maybe get a slight knock on Sunday so he would have to come off and Martin could have the record to himself.

"But it's still great for him."

Lucas Leiva, who played in 33 of the Reds' 38 league games this season, added: "Martin has been really good ever since he came to the club and his form this season has been excellent.

"He is really strong and he gives the midfield confidence that we have a very good centre-back.

"For a defender it's tough to play every game as you can easily pick up yellow cards so his record is very impressive."
