Milton Keynes Dons have this morning (Tuesday) completed the loan signing of exciting young Liverpool talent David Amoo.
The London-born forward, 19, joins the Dons on an initial one-month loan - reuniting with Dons manager Karl Robinson, a former coach in the Reds Academy.
David's loan spell will run up to Wednesday 23rd February and has been finalised in time for him to play in Tuesday's npower League 1 trip to Leyton Orient.
The highly rated forward, who can operate both centrally and on the right flank, heads to stadiummk for his first taste of action in the Football League and his first loan spell away from Anfield.
Having started out as a youngster with Millwall, the much sought-after Amoo joined the Reds as a 16-year-old in 2007, working his way through the Academy and Reserve ranks before signing as a professional a year later.
He agreed an improved two-year deal last summer before making his competitive debut in a Europa League qualifier against Rabotnicki in July.
Dons boss Robinson said: "I'm made up to be able to bring David here and I'm extremely grateful to Kenny Dalglish and Frank McParland at Liverpool for their help in making it happen.
"David will bring us genuine pace and explosiveness high up the pitch, which is something we have lacked at times this season. We have players with strength and guile and we're looking for those with the raw pace to compliment it.
"He'll be a very exciting addition to the squad and a player I know our fans will enjoy watching."
David has been issued with the No. 8 jersey for the duration of his loan spell and is likely to be in the squad for Tuesday's trip to the Matchroom Stadium.
New signing David Amoo is determined to make an impact during his time with the Tigers.
The speedy winger has joined City on loan from Liverpool until the end of the season and he is keen to show everybody what he can do in a black and amber shirt whilst also building on the experience gained from a recent loan spell at MK Dons.
"I'm hoping that between now and the end of the season I can make the same sort of impact that Cameron Stewart has made here," Amoo told www.hullcityafc.net
"I know Cameron pretty well from playing against him in youth and reserve team football. I've been talking to him and he's loving it here, although unfortunately he is injured at the moment. Hopefully I can enjoy my time here, too. I also spoke to Daniel Ayala before I signed here. He was disappointed that he couldn't stay here longer, but he loved it here.
"I'm here to try and get some games under my belt and to try and make a name for myself. My time at MK Dons was alright but I didn't play as many games as I wanted to, so hopefully I will play more here and I'm really looking forward to it."
Amoo started out as a youngster with Millwall before being snapped up by Liverpool's academy and he feels the Reds have given him a great education in the game.
"I signed for Liverpool when I was 16 and since then I have been playing youth and reserve team football and trying to develop as a player," added Amoo.
"The education I have received at Liverpool has been second-to-none, it's been great. To play for the first team in the Europa League last summer was also a fantastic experience."
Amoo, who represented London as a sprinter in his school days, was at the KC Stadium for Saturday's game against Cardiff and having seen the qualities City possess, even in defeat, he cannot wait for a possible debut against Nottingham Forest next weekend.
"I thought we were unlucky on Saturday and we had our fair share of chances," added the 19-year-old.
"Cardiff put their chances away, but in terms of the football played it was a good game and I enjoyed watching it.
"I'm looking forward to the game at Nottingham Forest now, especially if Paul Konchesky recovers to play left back. I'm sure it will be a great game."
DAVID Amoo isn't too sure where he'll be plying his trade next season – despite getting his Tigers' goal account up and running on Easter Monday.
On-loan Amoo's leveller in the 1-1 draw at Loftus Road kept the Tigers in with a mathematical chance of making the play-offs in the Championship – as well as placing the promotion champagne on ice for Neil Warnock's table-topping QPR outfit.
But the 20-year-old, who was making only his fifth appearance from the bench after joining in March until the end of season, said: "Regarding my future, we'll see how it goes. It's up to the coaches and they're the ones who see me every day.
"But I am enjoying it at Hull. I've just got to work hard and I've really had a good time here.
Amoo's 81st-minute strike gave the Tigers a deserved point and extended their unbeaten away run which now stretches back to the end of September and takes in 17 games.
The midfielder said: "I'm just so happy to have got the goal. To get the equaliser was an unbelievable feeling and I'm very, very happy.
"When I got through one on one I just said to myself 'get the shot away'. It was as simple as that and I was so happy to see it hit the back of the net.
"We'll just take it game by game and see how it goes now. We have Palace on Saturday and that will be another tough game."
Amoo has had to bide his time for his big chance at the KC after arriving on-loan from Liverpool.
But with Nigel Pearson's options in the middle of the park limited following an injury to Robert Koren and the hamstring Corry Evans picked up at QPR, Amoo may be in line to make his full debut for the Tigers on Saturday against Palace.
He admitted: "It was all about being patient to get my chance in the City team.
"I spoke to the gaffer and he said to me just do what you've been doing in training and you'll get your chance and I'm delighted to have got it.
"By getting better I have the chance to get on the pitch for Hull City."
Despite Amoo ruining Rangers' promotion party, he does believe Warnock's men have the look of champions and will go up to the Premier League as the season's top dogs in the Championship.
He said: "QPR are a top club. They will be league champions and they've deserved that success this season.
"The standard of football in the Championship is very, very good. Look at players like Andy Dawson and Wayne Routledge, they are players who have played in the Premier League so it's a really good level."
Pearson made his third and final substitution after 70 minutes as Jay Simpson came off to be replaced by Amoo. Amoo slotted into the left-side of midfield, as Maclean pushed on to partner Fryatt.
With ten minutes to go, it was the Tigers who were doing all the pressing, and they were duly rewarded with an equaliser as substitute David Amoo latched onto a lofted ball over the top before finishing in emphatic style.
David Amoo is a powerful right winger whose Liverpool journey began in 2007. A host of clubs sought his signature but the Millwall youngster chose to continue his football education at the Academy.
Two years later Amoo was promoted to the reserves after a 12-goal campaign which included a Kop end winner against Chelsea U18s en route to the FA Youth Cup final.
After signing a fresh two-year deal in the summer of 2010, the forward featured under new boss Roy Hodgson in pre-season before making his competitive debut on July 29 in a Europa League qualifier against Rabotnicki.
Amoo, who can also play up front, once represented London as a sprinter in the English Schools National Track and Field Championships. In January 2011, Amoo had a one month loan spell with MK Dons and then joined Hull City until the end of the 2010-11 season, before returning to Melwood in July 2011.
David has joined the Shakers for a month and takes squad number 19 whilst at Gigg Lane
“David came on and had an impact – he certainly gives us another outlet,” said Barker.
“I think we have been missing a bit of pace since Kyle Bennett and Nicky Ajose left the club and, although Michael Jones and David Worrall are technically gifted players, it is something I wanted to address.
“Pace is more and more important the higher up the Football League you go. You need players you can put on, knowing they are capable of making an impact on the game.
“Obviously, pace is not everything because we would just pack our team with sprinters, but, from what I have seen in training, David should create plenty of chances for us and I’m hoping he will weigh in with a few goals too.”
It was great to see the Shakers win for the first time in eight games when they defeated Yeovil 3-1 on Saturday.
Another stand-out loanee was David Amoo as he netted a header on his full Bury debut. I believe we have unearthed an exciting young talent that poses a real threat to defenders through pace and wingplay.
Not since the Bennett brothers graced the Gigg Lane turf have Bury acquired such a player that is so attractive to watch.
David Amoo has told Bury fans his best is yet to come as he prepares to face Exeter.
The on-loan Liverpool striker has set his sights on shooting down the Grecians after breaking his Bury duck last weekend.
The 20-year-old was making his second appearance for the Shakers at Yeovil after joining on a month’s loan and put them 2-1 up with a 67th-minute header.
And Amoo is eager to maintain that form after Bury won 3-1 to claim their first league victory in seven and climb out of the League One drop zone to 18th place.
“I feel really good, it’s great to be playing and I can only get better,” he said. “You haven’t seen the best from me yet.
“There will be points in the Yeovil game that I will look back on and say that I haven’t done this right or I can do better than that next time.
“This week I want to improve and go again. For me, at my age, every game is a learning curve.”
