Really tough on the kid. I read an interview with him in the Guardian last week, and he talked about how desperate he was to come back and play for us, talked about how much he loved his time at Brighton, and a host of other positive stuff. Seems like a really good kid.
Very unfortunate. Not sure if he was ever going to make it with us but looked a decent player in the little I've seen of him. Hopefully with youth on his side he'll fully recover from this injury.
This is tragic for the lad, I just hope he can regain his fitness for the tour down-under, because that is his chance to impress and show whether or not he has made enough progress, such as Ibe has, to warrant a spot in next seasons squad (there are going to be more than a few vacancies). Very talented youngster, I'd love for him to come good.
I didn't see that part in the article - or is that the normal time for the cast to go off for an injury of that nature?
It'll be good for him if he's able to recover in time and join in the later part of pre-season training, but if he needs more time and takes 6 months just to get back on the pitch and start running some, then I'm afraid the boat will have sailed for him by the time he's ready. I'm not sure that even if fit he can cut it here (because of the competition in the areas he plays in) but it's always good to see a youngster from the U18s/U21s with good talent coming through and getting a chance to fight for a place.
