Team for Everton

Here's the Everton team that got beat tonight:

24 Howard
03 Baines
04 Yobo
05 Heitinga
15 Distin
23 Neill
17 Cahill
20 Pienaar
26 Rodwell
08 Saha
22 Yakubu

Now, Fellaini and Bilyaletidinov come back in for Sunday after being suspended. I'd expect both to probably play. Yakubu was hooked just after half-time tonight, so Moyes might go for 4-5-1 (like he did last year) and drop the Ya to the bench. they've conceded 6 in 2 games, he'll be trying to tighten things up.

With Heitinga and Billy down the right, they're not bad. So we could maybe expect Riera in front of Insua to provide the young argie with a bit of support. As for the rest of the back four, well I'd guess if Glenjo's fit, then it'll be the same as Debrecen.

I think Rafa will go for 4 in the midfield. We did that last year, with Alonso and Gerrard there and absolutely dominated. Sticking 5 in there goes like for like against the Blues, but it congests everything. Too many cooks and all that. For this one, I'd drop lucvas and stick Gerrard or Aqui in his place, try and pass your way round the Cahill's, Fellaini's and/or Rodwell's. They're not that good, we're better with space and the ball on the deck. Play two up front. N'gog, if Torres isn't fit, and Gerrard or Benayoun.

Withstand the opening 10-15 minute humdrum of shiity late tackles, qwell the fucking bile from the stands, and let our better players dictate the game. I actually think this is the perfect match for us to have right now, and if we do things right, we'll win.

Beating those cunts at their own ground, with a decent performance, would be a massive confidence booster.

I'm not to sure about that considering our record with defending set pieces this season and the inevitable nervous atmosphere that will result from two teams playing very poorly.

EDIT - Wasn't it the Everton game last year where they targeted Lucas, closing him down at every opportunity in order to pressurise him into losing the ball?

One of our cleverer posters pointed out thsat it seems Rafa doesn't see our problems as stremming from Midfield. I have to agree that seems to be the case.

Given that, I fear we will line up 4-5-1 and the game will be the worst game of kick-and-rush seen on TV for years.
