He's brilliant.

I do think his versatility could be a negative thing though, unless he & the club focus on one position as he breaks through, before then expanding his game.

Whilst it didn't stop stevie reaching his heights, today's game (at least that played by klopp & pep) is much more rigid in many ways so perhaps less forgiving of a player who roams the pitch.

Klopp and his coaches know alot more than I do, but I'm hoping he doesn't get information overload on tactics and discipline and stuff...too much anyway! Just let him grow as a player/person and let him express himself as and when he gets his chances. If he keeps going as he is, he'll smash it for us. Player's who can nick a goal from midfield are worth their weight in gold. Really excited to see how he progresses.

It might look on the outside now as if he might suddenly be getting given too much info, but that isn't the case at all. Making him captain of the under-23s was very much part of a plan to help him think about the game more, and be more concerned about discipline, to prepare him for the first team. Then being part of the 'talent group' at Melwood saw more work done to develop the tactical side. So it's actually a very steady and careful process that helps someone like him take the steps forward in a fairly 'natural' way. By the time you make your senior debut you've been going through all the preparation and patterns over and over again. You can't anticipate fully the pressure of actual games, of course, but the young players are otherwise very well prepared.
