Any young Aussie's to look out for? Does Ryan still play?
Lyon wonderkid Houssem Aouar has heard the rumours linking him with a move to Liverpool - and admits they are 'nice to hear'.
But the 19-year-old insists his development can continue at his current club.
Aouar has taken Ligue 1 by storm this season, putting in a number of excellent performances in midfield and establishing himself in the France Under-21s squad.
Both the Reds and Barcelona have subsequently been credited with an interest in the youngster, with further suggestions he had been on Liverpool's radar before he opted to sign professional terms with boyhood club Lyon.
The recent rumours were put to Aouar by France Football, with the playmaker honest in his appraisal.
“I hear the rumours, like you. I have ears!" he said.
“I have eyes too, to see a few things left and right. The guy who says he doesn’t hear stuff or listen to anything, is not telling the truth. But there's nothing you can do. All of that doesn’t bother me.
“I’m well protected with my family. It’s nice to hear, but I’m not getting carried away. My feet are firmly on the ground. I’ve only got a good half-season behind me, and I have everything to develop at Lyon.”
Aouar, whose contract expires in 2020, only made his senior debut for Lyon in February 2017, with a debut year to remember for the prodigy.
His performances have also seen him linked with a move to Camp Nou, with the player a little more forthcoming with that interest.
When asked if he would want to play for Barcelona one day, he replied: "Of course, but that applies to every great club!
OK, it’s only February, but already the pace of the transfer gossip is picking up to the point I feel I need to try to make some sense of it in my usual thread. As usual, I try to include only players who have been more or less credibly linked with us; Portuguese and Italian newspapers are mostly disregarded as sources.

We don’t seem to be in the market for one, for once

I think Real Madrid players should be in a separate category. If any of Isco, Ascensio, Keylor Navas etc become available, I think there will be a long line of suitors and LFC probably among them - but their availability depends solely on Madrid’s internal politics and their own summer targets. So unlike most of the others on this list, Real players are not really “on the market,” but things could change quickly, so you can’t rule them out either.
Did I forget anyone?
=========
UPD: I added the color-coding like last summer, to show my very preliminary and imprecise assessment of whether the player in question would be an immediate improvement over the current LFC players in his position. Remember, it refers to current level, not potential. Red for instant improvement, orange for competitive, yellow for squad player, green for youth player.
Bittencourt?Who would be scouting there?
Leon Bailey ?
Julian Brandt?
Kai Havertz?
I think we're finally going to make a play for Ernst Dorfmeier
I think he's getting on a bit now .. we should have signed him when first linked.I think we're finally going to make a play for Ernst Dorfmeier

I'm not sure. I think Gene, as the expert on this guy, owes us a Rurik-style dossier.People are writing him off way too early. He's a class act.

[article]Liverpool are poised to make a move to sign a second Egyptian this summer in the shape of Stoke City star Ramadan Sobhi, TEAMtalk has been told.
Mohamed Salah has proved a huge success for the Anfield giants having already struck 36 goals in all competitions for the Reds and we have been told Jurgen Klopp is now keen to bring in a second Egyptian in Sohbi.
Our sources have told us that Salah has given his fellow countryman a glowing recommendation to Klopp and his coaching staff. Indeed, having watched the player prior to his move to Stoke, Reds scouts are now understood to have taken more than a passing interest in the player and have been to watch him in action a number of times in recent months.
Sobhi joined Stoke in 2016 for just £5million and the Potters are likely to make a profit of around £10million, after we were told the Potters would be willing to sell for a fee of around £15million.
The Reds also hope the possible signing of Sobhi will further help their efforts to keep their star man happy at Anfield, with the bargain £36.9m capture from Roma reportedly attracting admiring glances from some of Europe’s biggest sides.[/article]
He can't even get into the soon relegated Stoke teamAwww, we're getting him a Sobhi bear.
Mascher couldn't get in West hams side.He can't even get into the soon relegated Stoke team
Yeah, I did tooI can't believe I just watched a compilation video off the back of a clearly made up link.
Spoiler alert: he doesn't look very good.
Do you think Robertson should be sidelined? I don't. And no way will this guy come in as second choice. One player we have not been linked with yet, but I believe we could potentially sign is Köln's left-back Jonas Hector. Klopp wanted him 2 years ago, but at the time his price was way too high and he didn't want to leave anyway. Now Köln is about to get relegated, which will kick-in his relegation clause of around €7M. Both Dortmund and Bayern are said to want him; he's cool-headed character with excellent attacking and defensive qualities and plenty of experience (35 caps for the national team) and versatility (can play in central midfield, a bit like a reverse Milner). Oh, and as an added bonus he's a Xabi Alonso look-alike.
It would make a lot of sense for us to sell Moreno while his value is probably at the all-time high due to a decent first half of the season with us and sign Hector to replace him on the cheap. I have no insider knowledge, but just logically I would be surprised if he's not on our summer list.
