[article=http://www.marca.com/2013/11/20/en/football/real_madrid/1384936797.html]Carlo Ancelotti wanted two world-class centre-forwards, having no idea how Morata would perform. However, Özil's transfer dragged on until the last day of the summer transfer window and left Real no room to manoeuvre in terms of signing Luis Suárez. The club also tried to offload Coentrao to Manchester United right up to the night of 31st August, but to no avail.

After Luis Suárez had turned down every offer he received in the summer because he was only interested in joining Madrid, the Uruguayan reached an agreement with Liverpool: he would play his socks off for the Reds, but if Real Madrid came in with a €47m bid, Liverpool would let him leave.

Ancelotti has not lost sight of the player since the Uruguayan made his Liverpool comeback after the suspension he had carried over from last season. Straight away he started scoring in the Premier League: 8 goals in 6 matches.

Although Real Madrid is not currently contemplating a move for the forward in the January transfer window, what plays in Suárez's favour is that he is eligible for the Champions League, plus he would have no language problems settling in at Real. On top of all that, he has character and goals aplenty.[/article]

[article=http://www.marca.com/2013/11/20/en/football/real_madrid/1384936366.html]Real Madrid has what could be a very attractive Christmas present on the table. His name is Luis Suárez and once again he has been offered to the Bernabeu club. The Uruguayan's was the first name that Ancelotti wrote on his transfer wish list a month ago. The Italian is fully aware that it is just that, a "wish list", but if you don't ask, you don't get.

Luis Suárez came very close to joining Real Madrid last summer. His agent, Pere Guardiola even reached a verbal agreement with 'Los Blancos' to sign the Uruguayan forward. They discussed the length of his contract, as well as his salary and the transfer fee it would cost to prise him away from Liverpool - around €45m.

The numbers tallied up for Real Madrid and Ancelotti supported the signing, although Real Madrid's president had his doubts about signing as controversial a player as Luis Suárez.

However, the thing that prevented the deal from going through was not his bad temper, but the problems faced by Real in signing Gareth Bale and selling one of its big name players. The Bernabeu club had set aside €100m to sign the Welshman, but the club had counted on raising funds from selling Di María or Özil in order to bring in Suárez and not leave Real short on bodies up front.[/article]

Marca, Marca, Marca .... think you can sucker us (well you can the RM public) with those non-quotes quotes ?

I mean, there is some blatant BS there as it seems to repress the fact that Suarez agitated for the move to Arsenal to go through.

Marca were the ones insisting Suarez had a 40m buyout clause (that Liverpool supposedly stupidly agreed to in contract negotiations) this summer. Now they're saying that Liverpool have somehow, without any new contract, agreed to sell Suarez for LESS than the supposed buyout clause should Real come in for him.
They're starting their game pretty fucking early aren't they.

We should offer them Suarez plus £1 for Ronaldo.

you have to love the way marca make it sound like teams are bending over backwards to give them their players , like it's a privilege just to sell to the mighty Real. Sadly though their tactics seem to work and they usually get what they want .

anyway if he does go then he goes for 60, 70, 80m...they have a new budget , they can fork out for him .

Do Madrid even need him? Ronaldo and Bale on their books, not sure they need another player of that ilk?

So Marca think we'll sell for 47mill euros, which is less than what the Arse bid in the summer? Ha! junk article from Marca as usual.

I expect him to leave in the summer (unless we win the league or something....) and it'll probably be less than we'd like, im guessing around 50 mill. having said that this article is bullshit, marca dont give a fuck about what they print if it helps real
