The best player in the world with another hat-trick. Barcelona champions.

Suarez scored 40 goals in the league this season. More than one goal a game. 59 goals so far this season.

Incredible, fantastic.

Suarez the best player in the world.

This just proves what i have always suspected.

The only reason Messi and Ronaldo have accumulated as many goals they have is because they play in that league.

Suarez is good great, but if he continued playing in the prem, he may have probably had a few more 30 goal seasons, but its undeniable he was shot to pieces towards the end of his last season with us and was running on fumes. In La Liga, it seems quite easy to fill your boots with goals for a top class forward player.

He's scored more there than he ever did in the Eredivisie. La Liga must be shite.

Not really. The Spanish clubs have won 48 of 52 times they have been drawn against foreign clubs in the CL/EL the last three seasons. La Liga is by far the best league in the world. When they sell a big star a young star get a chance and soon he replaced the big star and get sold and so on. The reason is that they have more than 15k coaches with one of the two UEFA coaching badges.Compare that to England that have 1395.

That means that they have very good coaches that takes care of kids from a very early age.

Almost all of the Spanish clubs have financial problems so they must have excellent scouts and a excellent youth system.

You are right on the number of coaches though, Arn. Holland also has loads for the size of it's population and the kids are taught well from a young age. Ex pros start off teaching the kids and do not start off with the first team of the club that made them famous. I assume Germany is similar. England is miles behind in this aspect.

Yet Suarez scored shitloads more in Spain and Holland than England. Shit leagues.

Messi looked a little poor (by his standards) in that final game. Running into crowds of defenders and losing the ball, not quite making passes... contrasted by Suarez winning the game.

Maybe he was running on fumes because he had to carry us almost singlehandedly for a lot of that season whereas he has more help at Barca?

Defo. Their stats would be fuck all like they are if they'd played in the Prem.

Splitting hairs about La Liga being shite etc, fuck off. 60 goals in 1 season is fucking phenomenal no matter which way you look at it. The mans's a genius.

I remembered Rosco and a few others wanted him sold at one point because they alleged that he was overrated and only scored against weaker, smaller teams.

That was funny, looking back now.

He's a legendary Footballer. A goalscoring machine, for many years at this point.

Rosco on the other hand, is a legend for being quotably wrong. But he gives great quotes that haunt him for years!

Don't knock it. Journalist Simon Jenkins has made a career out of being a pompous, sour contrarian, who can take any topic, observes the popular, or accepted view, and then makes a case for the exact opposite to be true. Which it never is.

He has actually argued against science.

But it does create debate.

Does he do more than 3 topics?

That's where he excels: he can - and does - any topic at all, even if he has no actual expertise, training or even basic knowledge about the subject.

He's tackled science, climate change, the housing crisis, religion, architecture, the middle east, terrorism, higher education, tax, military intervention, nazis......it's almost like he gets his topics from 6CM General Chat. And probably all his research.
