Suarez & Barca

I don't think I would take that to be honest.
Really?

Id take the month suarez would miss through suspension over coutinhos patchy form.

If we were prepared to get suarez we would need an additional £100m on quality . So its moot really

In fairness lads what the f*ck are you talking about?

He would never ever choose us even if Barca was stupid enough to sell him.

For the record Suarez is nothing to do with Barca being shite at the back.

There is logic to it of course.
But Suarez left us once, was seemingly happy to have left us prior to that and I don't really buy into his affection for Liverpool being anything out of the ordinary.
Plus I really like the idea of building a team that gels well, plays for each other and is greater than the sum of its parts.
With Suarez, it would be a return to building a team around one superstar.

He is always complimentary towards us. I'd take it in a fucking heart beat. 50-60m he wanted to go to spain. He went, won everything there was to win.

There is unfinished business.

Sadly, I doubt Barca would sell.

I can't see him leaving Barca. Even if he does, I could see him at City or Chelsea before us, despite his previous platitudes.

This is click bait surely!

If Barca are mental enough to sell then we will not be in the running. His missus is from Barca and was unhappy in Liverpool. I'd suggest money and sun would be the next move if he did get sold (Italy, Juve?) but I cannot believe Barca will sell

Not if we put a wider platform in place too, as others have said. Besides, Suarez' ability shouldn't blind anyone to the fact that he himself is the ultimate team player, covering every blade of grass on the pitch twice over and chivvying other players along as well as doing his individual thang. I'd take him back tomorrow.

Exactly.

He's as much as a team player as anyone at that level I've ever seen. He actually drags & pushes more out of the players who play with him.

I am not saying I wouldn't take him back even though I doubt it would happen.
It would have to be mostly on our terms though and certainly not on Barca's.
Maybe it is simply that I have moved on from him.

I'd love it, but I think a lot of people are showing too much faith in the possibility he might want to come back. I would be massively surprised if it happened.

This is a guy who 'agreed' to join the arsenal. Sentiment aside, If he left barca, we would be near the back of the queue.

I'd have him back in a heartbeat. And all his cuntishness that goes along with him. He's well worth it. I was gutted we didn't try to do more to keep him.

Someone mentioned him as one if the clubs greatest players .... and i get he's a unique talent. But isn't that argument undermined by the complete lack of success we had while he was here ?

I suspect that they will come for Little Phil this summer.

Any sane person would think Barcelona needs good defenders and a goalkeeper yet the rags are full of Barcelona in for Coutinho. A good question to ask is, does Barcelona have the money which Liverpool would demand?

Depends on your view.

Not neccessarily. He was one of the clubs greatest players, who happened to be playing in a team filled with shite. Our lack of success wasn't his fault.

Whilst I was watching the game, I was thinking (like many others it appears) about the possibility of getting him back. I think he was to leave Barca there is a good chance of him being interested in a return, but would Klopp embrace the idea??
I think he embodies the Klopp style of play and if he became available would want the club to do anything to sign him. I think his style of play would easily interact with our current crop, and think he could cover two positions (st/am) if need be allowing us to concentrate on GK/CB/CM and possibly LB.

No.

Although syntactically, id say 'he was one of the greatest players to play for the club' not one of the clubs greatest players.

It was me that said that and I stand by it. He was/is a phenomenal talent and but by a slip from Gerrard we would have won the PL - I have never EVER seen a better player in the red shirt than Suarez. I probably saw him at Anfield about 5-6 times - He was just outstanding. It's not like he's been chilling his boots at Barca either. He's been awesome for them. I seriously doubt they'd sell but if they were I would bet he'd like to come back.

Yeah, there's no chance with this.

Pity, because he would be worth any amount but there we go.

Erm I beg to differ sir. There is a very real chance he'd come back. I heard it from a bloke down the local herbal tea shop. Actually I'm not kidding. It's not beyond the realms of possibility (apparently 😉 ) - His kids love it here and now that Gerrard is back it's a big temptation for him. He loves the reds and there is unfinished business for him. £50mill for a 30 yr old? I'd normally say balls to that! - Thing is he's the greatest player to have ever played for us (possibly) Break the fucking bank!

Would we have to give Phil to get him?

I'm an auld arse - my Dad took me to see Billy Liddell - Suarez is the best Red I've ever seen - one of the very few that lit up the place every time he touched the ball - I'd do whatever it took to get him back for the next two seasons because for my money he's still the best striker in the world

Holy moly - somebody older than me! Shanks and I signed on for the Red Army in the same year so Billy Liddell was just before my time.

Others have had more glorious careers for us but Suarez is the most individually gifted player I've ever seen wear the shirt.
