I saw someone mention this on Twitter who isn't a mentalist. So here goes....

Looks like Barca are going out to Juve. I suspect that they will looking to change up the squad and the manager as is usual in these "end of an era" situations.

So could we, should we, can we go and get Luis back?

Yeah he'd cost plenty, but we all know the pro's on the pitch - winning mentality, huge work rate, goal scorer, good injury record.

I know I'm sounding like a sentimentalist or even maybe just a mentalist or perhaps a computer game manager but, is it really that silly?

Oh by the way, I'd have him back - I think that's obvious though.
 
I'd fucking LOVE to have him back.

Should he be up for sale we'd be outbid by either Utd or Chelsea in terms of fee & salary though, & I highly doubt the owners would sanction the kind of cash we'd need to splash on him when considering his reputation.

Which is fucking unfortunate, cos he's just fucking incredible & it'd piss me right off being that good for another premiership club.

Would he go to them though? I know he was considering Arsenal but I think he realised it was a mistake.

Perhaps I'm so misty eyed I'm actually ignoring the mercenary nature of footballers. If he went to either of them, I'd cry.

WOW - fucking wow.

I was going to post the QF thread that Barca need to spend a shit load of money if they want to win the CL (they'll finish top 3 in La Liga regardless).
They need 1-2 CBs (Pique and Umtiti aren't great), a RB (they never replaced Alves), a LB. The whole back 4 has been exposed this year as their midfield ages, and MSN hasn't given them the same explosiveness as last year.

Then they need a replacement for Iniesta (Gomes is shit, Arda Turan is old too), and competition for Rakitic and Busquets.
 
There was a thread recently about 3 fifties or 5 thirties.
If we were going with three 50m players this summer AND
If we had already landed our 50m players to build our midfield and defence around .... only then is it worth considering.
 
I am not so sure he wouldn't choose Man City, United or Chelsea ahead of us.
He is exactly the type of player you would expect to flourish in Klopp's Liverpool or just about any half decent team I guess.
I refuse to believe it until he goes and bites somebody.
 
When he was already at Barca, I think. I thought I read something to that effect not long ago.
 
What would he cost, he is 30 years old? Transfermakt has him valued at £76m and those turds usually under value a player, however on this I think they're right. If we are to get him it would mean Coutinho going the other way I guess?
 
Erm I beg to differ sir. There is a very real chance he'd come back. I heard it from a bloke down the local herbal tea shop. Actually I'm not kidding. It's not beyond the realms of possibility (apparently 😉 ) - His kids love it here and now that Gerrard is back it's a big temptation for him. He loves the reds and there is unfinished business for him. £50mill for a 30 yr old? I'd normally say balls to that! - Thing is he's the greatest player to have ever played for us (possibly) Break the fucking bank!
 
He'll never play for us again, sadly.

But I'd obviously take him back in a heartbeat as he's ace.
 
Let's face it, if they really want Coutinho they're getting him regardless, so we could at least try to get Suarez back in the talks.
 
It wouldn't happen but I'd do it if we spent enough elsewhere to give us a good enough platform to be successful.
 
I'd have him back in a heartbeat.
He was interviewed a few days ago and said that he hoped we qualified for the CL, as the club belongs back in that competition.

I dont think Barca will sell regardless of having to rebuild this summer.
