Actually I think it was the clincher. They signed him right after Episode 2.
 
This Suarez obsession is kinda sad, like the Utd fans who live vicariously through Ronaldo. It's one thing to admire anot ex player like Alonso who was a loyal professional loved the club and was forced out, but Suarez couldnt wait to leave tried to engineer a move to a rival team and acted like a complete cunt for a large portion of his time with us. He couldn't give a fuck.
 
Most of that turns the truth on its head. Alonso ignored a direct (if harsh) instruction from his manager, had the cheek to get miffed when his action had the obvious consequences and finally insisted on leaving even when Rafa, however belatedly, tried to patch things up. Suarez did agitate for a move, but wound his neck back in when it was denied and went on playing out of his skin for us. The idea that he "acted like a complete cnut for a large portion of his time with us" and "couldn't give a f'ck" is a total pile of @rse.

I love the guy - if you have in your team you know you will get 100% conviction, aggression etc etc - all the good things you want from a player when he is playing. He has in many ways defined how willing a footballer should be to win games.
 
I wanted us to sign him when he was at Groningen. We bought Ryan Babel instead and Ajax bought Suarez as his replacement . Love watching him play football.

Are you sure about that? I think I remember watching an Ajax game to scout Babel and being far more impressed by the winger who played on the opposite flank... Luis Suarez. Didn't they play for Ajax together?

I am sure yeah. Luis was the replacement for Babel. Ajax fleeced us then took the piss with Groningen. Suarez was playing as a winger at the time but not sure who you saw at Ajax.
