I don't often find myself being directly angry with how we are run as a club or whatever half-daft decisions our manager or player makes but to be honest, all this letting Carroll go bollocks - whilst not even being able to buy a half decent replacement is one of those few occasions where I care to make an exception.
We have acted like a bunch of amateurs this Window and I don't even care who's to blame. For me it's the manager, the owners the CEO. It's abysmal and I just keep my fingers crossed we'll survive untill January - and that we don't bring in Owen.
That's me venting and now looking forward. What strikers are there and who do we want? I know there's a 'free agents' thread about the same issue but that is just us continuing the downward slope if we are to panic-sign some has-been or left out. Let's not do that and instead get the right ones come January. Imo.
There are the ever so obvious candidates, Llorente, Sturridge et all but for some reason or another they aren't perhaps the most likely of candidates. Then there's the completely unknown (at least at the biggest stage) and perhaps that's where we should be looking now that we are 'building' for the future?
I don't think there's a lot of obvious candidates in either bracket at least what I know of but here's perhaps a few interesting names to at least keep our eyes on for the future, from my part of the world.
FC Copenhagens Andreas Cornelius, 19, has just been promoted to the Danish senior International side for the Checz game whilst no-one really knew about him 6 months ago. Big, powerful type that's rather decent on the ball as well and certainly seems very potent in front of goal. Never a direct Carroll-sub at this stage in time but perhaps one for the future.
Nicolai Jørgensen, 21, loanee in FC Copenhagen from Leverkusen, and one that I must admit is looking to be a great prospect. Powerful, direct and with better technical skills than most of his stature. Fast and goal-seeking and made opponent Salomon Kalou look the inferior player in the very recent Lille - FC København matches. Can play every position in the attacking half of the pitch and really could be one Rodgers should be looking at.
He probably scored the goal of the year in the Danish Superliga last night as well: 2.40 mins into the clip (Cornelius scored the first one at the start of the clip for the team wearing black shirts)

Line the starlet striker prospects up in here, if you like. Anyone know about any real prospects in the Cypriotic/Israelic leagues (LTW?), they do seem to perform rather well in Euorpe these past years.
