Striker Signing

Let's get Belotti from Torino, watched him tear shit up over the w/e, he would be a great pick up but prices quoted are ridiculous.

I like the look of Mbappe. I know he plays as wide forward but he looks a striker in the making to me.

Any love for Iheanacho? Still very young and next season, if Aguero stays and with Gabriel Jesus fit again he'll be way down the pecking order at city.

He's a hard one to judge. He's got a great scoring record but at times can look pretty raw.

I'd take him for a reasonable fee but don't see City letting him leave unless they go on another mega spree.

I've been looking at what the papers are quoting for some of the players that are being linked and it's incredible! Innaki £50m, Lorenzo £50m, Lacazette £60m, and Aubameyang £75m. Yet Sturbridge is only £30m. The market is fucked! If we are going to raid Southampton again, get their scouting team.

All true. If that was the case with City then I'd like to see us take a shot at him. I'd go with another more experienced striker too with sturridge on the way out and us needing a far stronger squad next season.

We could do worse that raid them. We've been asking for the likes of Lacazette, Aubameyang and Mertens all the while their scouting team picked up on the man who couldn't get into the Napoli team ahead of Mertens and looks like a real scorer. We should have a minority stake in the c*nts anyway at this stage with the amount we've given them in transfer fees

I'm guessing Utd would go all in for Kane if there was the slightest hint of him becoming available.

There is no chance he'd come to us regardless of how much we offered.

Yeah Utd love to make a 'statement' signing and if Pochettino gets offered the Barca job I think it will be very difficult for Spurs to hang onto Kane. Rooney is a spent force and Zlatan is 36 next season with 12 months left on his contract. Seems inevitable that Mourinho will go for a big name striker this summer.

If Pochettino does go I could see him trying to take Ali and Eriksen to Barca, their midfield is in desperate need of an overhaul.

No chance of Kane, Lukaku or Costa, and they're the only Prem ones I would be interested in.
I'd be wary of spending big money on someone who's scored a few goals in Scotland. Coming with the price tag he would, he'd be under pressure immediately.
My money is on someone who is middle-to-good in Germany and that Klopp thinks can step up. I'll let the Bunsenburnerleague experts tell me who that is.

Milik of Napoli? Never seen him play, just throwing names out there. Klopp does good things with Polish strikers.

As bonkers as this might seem. I'm all for a marquee signing but I also think a case can be made for a Defoe. He'll be cheap for one thing. Guaranteed to come here. Proven. Sure he wears silly earrings but he shits goals and has done so even at 34. I'm thinking this could be a McAllister type signing - Just throwing it out there. 😎

I wanted him in Jan, not so sure in the summer. I think he would have made a huge difference this season.

Credit where it's due, Defoe has had a great season I just don't think he's one we should be looking at.

Apart from the fact he's no youngster anymore and that he's never really excelled at the highest level, we should be looking for a forward/striker with a very different physique in terms of height/strength than what Jermaine can offer.

Mané, Sturridge, Firminio, Lallana, Coutinho, Ings are all on the medium to small side when it comes to stature so apart from Origi, who's not exactly impressed of late, we don't have a single player in the squad that can compete with big, strong defenders when it comes to crosses and wrestles.

Our main problem this season has been against teams that are packing the bus, that much is blatantly obvious and unless we are signing Messi or Suarez we'd help ourselves loads if we got in some more power, height and strength for that position. Defoe is even smaller than the ones we've already got and by no means a world beater why I'd be increasingly frustrated with that type of signing - unless if it was as a back-up but why ruin what he's got going for him at Sunderland and place him on our bench? It's a no-no for me.

An explosive, strong, balanced, above average height (1.85-ish), skilled AND fast player is what we are looking for, after we've initially made sure that the player is actually also an incredible goalscorer. Easy.

Someone who can do this even when he's got defenders hanging off him..

or this..

Look, I am not even sure Zohore can make the step to the top of the Prem, let alone at this early stage, but he's on 8 goals in 7 games now for Cardiff and the nature of some of his goals reminds me of when he was playing at U19-U21 level as a 14-15-year-old for FC Copenhagen, where he simply just ghosted past players because of his beast-like physique and decent technique.

Did I mention he's Drogba's cousin? He was kind of a late bloomer as well and with Zohore just turning 23 there's still plenty of years to become even better.

I have not seen any full games with him since his time in Denmark so I would need someone else to give a more thorough review, the way he takes his goals though and the frequency of them at the moment, should at least make us keep an eye out.

Even with Sturridge this season we were short up front. With him gone we need minimum 2 attackers at least. I would definitely take a first choice striker and X, with X being one of Defoe, Sigurdsson or Zaha.

These are proven attackers who are realistic targets imo.

When did Ings get injured?

I'd like to know what the average distance is for his goals. If it's over 7 yards I'd be very surprised.
