So let's talk strikers. Sturridge is nailed on to leave the club in the summer. Replacing great strikers is something we've done well in our recent history so who do we want to want?

Inaki Williams link refuses to die. I think he will be one main choice. I'm no expert on foreign footie but he looks like a raw right wing forward to me. I'm regularly surprised by the potential price tag for him of £40 odd million. He would have to learn a new position and adapt to a new league at the same time. Not convinced.

Lazazette seems to be the popular option among fans. I tend to think we won't be able to offer him enough. Competition for him will be high.

Sanchez would be perfect but unrealistic surely.

Is Dolberg an option?

Who else is there?

Bit out there, but I'd take Jamie Vardy.

He's a decent player, and his work rate and blistering pace is admirable.

But he's only really delivered goals consistently for one season out of three at the top level, he's 30, and he also needs plenty of help to score his goals. He's not much of a lone striker type

What about Danny Ings? Is he on the road to recovery or what? Does he have what it takes?

he appeared to fit the bill pretty well in the few chances he's had , im not sure he's enough , it'd be high risk to rely on him going into next season ,especially given his recent injury record/ lack of playing time

He also needs a bucket load of space in behind and very few teams afford us that

Well we've gotten Firmino and Mane since Suarez left but neither are knowning for scoring a bucket load.

We need to get this right in the summer.

Hopefully there will a diamond in the roof out their somewhere.

Icardi would be a fantastic signing imo - but we missed that boat last year. Unless he asks to move, Inter won't sell as he's key to them imo.

I'd love Dollberg but it's a risky signing as he's a kid - and putting our expectations for goals on him is risky.

Belotti - I'm scared to sign Italians but if we can match his owner's valuation of him, we could probably invest in 3-4 world class talents instead and be a better team for it!

Dolberg is still raw and not tested at the highest level but he is still a gamble we should take. So obvious is his talent imo.

He will score goals and aplenty AND be a potential long term solution as well. We need to take our chances on these world class talents before they become World Class and often out of our league.

Dembele

I have few doubts he would be class , he's young and should be no more than £40/50m ?

Whilst in an ideal world I'd like us to break the bank for Sanchez (we'd get that money back through increased performance imo anyway), I can't see the owners or Klopp doing that, sadly.

Ha ha you beat me to it.

The Mighty Phoenix will raise in Trondheim like many demigods before him.. probably.

I actually think he'll rediscover his form from the national side in Trondheim. Rosenborg are set up to get the best out of him (4-3-3 and score about 70-80 goals a season) and he them. If he stays out of trouble and focuses on football, that move can be very good for both sides. Probably the biggest signing ever made in the Norwegian league. I was veeeeery surprised when I read about it last night.

As for strikers. Its quiet obvious that we need someone a bit like Firmino (work rate and link up play) but who can almost guarantee us more goals.

Icardi would be perfect but will probably be to expensive, if he leaves. Lacazette is an option. Belotti would suit us to a t but he'll cost a shitload and will have plenty of suitors.
Dolberg is also an option and a very interesting one. The big question is whether or not we can afford him to spend a year + developing and adapting to the league. We probably need a new signing to deliver from the start. That said, whoever replaces Sturridge wont have to do much next season before they've contributed more than him.

I'd say Icardi or Dolberg. Dolberg just because you know he'll end up a class striker and will probably be worth the time he needs to adapt. Lacazette as number 3.

I'd break the bank for Kane or Lukaku before Sanchez.

I don't see anyone obviously capable of scoring more goals in the next five years than those two.

But all 3 would be difficult signings.
So i'll go check out FIFA for some names of starlets

Sanchez will probably want out of England but otherwise United would be the most viable option because they will pay the most.

I've wanted Lacazette for years, literally, so I'd love him to come here. Movement, goals, pace I don't understand why he's not been snapped up before, probably because for the top teams there always seemed like better options. With Klopp, Saudi money (if it happens, via a kit sponsorship of some kind) and IF we make the Top 4, then we could be an attractive option because maybe he won't have as many suitors as may be thought.

That said, and with Klopp and our coaching team's German connections, it'll likely be someone out of the BL.

AND his close control is pretty shit and he won't have enough time to get away with that in the PL.

His close control is very good. Its more a concern about how quickly he'll adapt to the tempo and physical side of the PL.

And he is and looks like a massive cunt. His talent alone doesnt justify that level of cuntishness, not even close.
