The Eight Bells Pub is the LFC friendly one which is right next to Putney Bridge tube station for anyone going. If there's a spare going or likely to be one, I'll happily snap it up.

cheers for the tip

I think the home fans anger against anyone they suspect of being an away fan really depends on the result. I have never sat with home fans when liverpool have won away, hope my luck changes Monday although Fulham are the form team in the PL with us and the chavs (typical)

Sat with Villa fans at Villa park. It was as quiet as a Church bar the boring "Barry for England" chants.

The people around us knew we we're Liverpool fans after a while but we happened to be sitting around a few families who didn't seen to care. They even laughed with us at times.

Worst game ever btw. I think we had FA Cup Final coming up. 0-0. No shots on goal. There was an exciting throw in around the hour mark though.

March 17th 2007. I've never had a more boring St. Patrick's day. The Villa fans were fucking shit as well.

*actually not joking*

Themn = drama queen.

I always just pretend to be a neutral on a free ticket, helps that I don't have a scouse accent

As long as you stand up when they score to not look different and stay sat down when we score you should be ok I think

Im in the hammersmith end for this - might have a spare if anyone is looking

Fox you should just be yourself and enjoy it if we score, i'm sure the home fans will respect your honesty.

PM Spion Kop, I'm pretty sure he's looking for one,mate....

I once stood in the Linfield end against Glentoran. Worse than that, I got the coach to the game with them. My mate was a blue, and told me he wouldn't let on. He didn't, till the way back, after the Glens had won...being 14 spared me a beating.

Ive sat with Everton fans a few times, if you behave yourself and try to not make it painstakingly obvious you are a red then you will be fine, if you celebrate us scoring a goal, chant, or criticise you might get abused or worse case scenario hit. Act accordingly and you will be fine.

Sat in the United end at Wembley at the Cup Final in '96 with my cousin.

We were sussed as "scouse cunts" within about 30 seconds of the game kicking off, and got slaughtered the whole game. Those 30 seconds after Cantona scored were the most unbearable of my life.

And there's more...

Highbury 91 - stood on the North Bank and when Smith scored his 3rd, I stormed out muttering all kinds of shite with the sound of mocking gooners in my ears.

Highbury - the year Carra threw the coin. This was my wife's first away game ever. Q: "Why do you keep sticking two fingers up at the people in that stand? Its not like they can see you...." >🙁

Also was shouting out after a ref injustice and big bit of phlegm flew out of my mouth and nestled in the bloke in fronts hair. He didn't notice but the bloke next to me did. He just said "Happens every game to me lad, don't worry about it".

There was a girl at my work who used to go to the games and I didn't realise she was 3 rows and couple seats behind me. She complimented me on the education I had given her regarding swear words during the game. My embarrassing was palable for weeks at work as she kept reminding everyone.

wow what a great match to chose to go to, chuffed as fuck

Have to say I don't know if it was just because they had nothing to play for but Fulham fans are the most placid, uninterested passionless fans I have ever seen. Hardly any of the fans wear the shirt to the game which is unusual these days and a lot of fans seem to be office types on jollies or tourists.

We were 3 up in 15 mins and I hardly heard a moan, a shout at a player or fuck all.

What a nice bunch, even at the end the police let all fans out together and the liverpool fans who were amazing all game again in the away end just carried on singing walking with the Fulham fans all the way back to the tube. Wouldn't it be nice if all games were like that.

We kept quiet in our seats but loads of liverpool fans stood up and cheered for the goals and sang even though they were in Fulham seats, no Fulham fans even moaned - amazing.

Went to the pub Jon recommended but it was packed so found a different one near the ground. Is there a prettier location for a ground than Fulham's right on the river lovely. Mind you fuck me how old and shite is the stadium, hated the old wooden seats.

Seeing Suarez play like that in the flesh was a real privilege what a performance but the thing that impressed me the most was the work rate compared to Fulham. We chased everything and Lucas was quality in the middle. Only time they looked any good was when Zamora came on, he is a decent player, how fucking tall is Hangerland !!! Looks bigger than crouch.

Hats off the the team and the away fans, love the heartbeat Maxi song and of course the Depeche Mode classic for Suarez, they did not stop singing. Also respect to Kenny as everytime the crowd chant Dalgish he acknowledges them, class act.

All in all a superb experience even if I got home at 2:15 am.

Next year folks, next year

Fox what end where you in?

The fans around us (hammersmith end) were generally quite loud, agreed with the not wearing the shirt stuff, but imo the atmosphere from their end was lively.

What a match though. As soon as we got to our seats (right behind schwarzer's goal for the first half) Suarez's beautiful run down the left 35 seconds and BANG one goal - i though Schwarzer could have done better for our second and third goals.

6 minutes - 2-0
15 minutes 3-0

Amazing - i moved on to another level of self control yesterday - watching your team play champagne football but having to sit with the opposing fans was not easy at all.

The setting is amazing - first time to craven cottage and the riverside 'bar' is gorgeous, great setting as fox said.

Did you manage to shift your spare, mate?
[/quote]

Yup a friend of mine took it off me just before Spion sent me a PM. Avvy you should have come down for this - London isnt too far from you is it?

About 2 hours by train..yeah, I wish I'd made it for this one, but I've got Spurs and I wanted to save some cash for that..

I'm sure I'll regret not going for this one when I'm packed off though. 🙁

Still, there might be other chances..

I was sat right by the players tunnel mate so right next to the away fans. Maybe that is where all the family and non fanatical Fulham folk sit. Behind the goal on opposite side to the away fans seemed louder for Fulham fans. Those stupid fan like noisy things that they bang are a bit annoying though.

The self control bit was so hard as you say, 5 goals and we just had to keep nudging eachother and making general comments like that Suarez is a bit good. There were a good few LFC fans sat where we were who did not give a fuck. Funny one was there was a guy in his 50s sat on his own right in the middle of the home fans and he was up dancing, singing at every goal, he just did not give a fuck. Nobody said anything to him.

I was dying to be in with the away fans, they were superb. Loved the way the fans mingled together without any trouble on the way there and on the way home.

As long as my mate stays working there I will defo go back to the cottage next time we are there.

Yup that figures - we were right behind the goal opposite the away stand -

that annoying fan like thing was a bit of fun actually, kept mine as a souvenir.

I might just get a fulham season ticket at £329 and watch the main matches - the london derbies and our game there.

How GASH did the statue look though!
