Stoke are 5/1 to qualify and I'm all over that shit
Go on the most popular Stoke City forum Woland http://oatcakefanzine.proboards.com/thread/253180/liverpool-stoke-city-league-cup you'll see an air of pessimism. As the thread progresses and they realise that Shawcross is out is pretty much when the negativity starts.

It also appears (on other threads) that the Bojan love-in is over. I'm toying with a lay of the Stoke city clean sheet on the 1% challenge thread tonight.

I missed most of the thread on the Norwich game....how much did you win on your inspired Norwich/LFC half time/full time bet?

Shawcross out is good news, as he's a top defender. I think we'll see two of their dwarves, Bojan and Shaquiri, in the side. Hughes will chuck everything at this.

Apparently Ojo was absolutely running the show for the u-21s tonight in a 2-0 win against the much vaunted Spurs U-21s. Would have liked him to have made the bench tomorrow.
I watched the game Doc and while I wouldn't say he ran the show, that's not really his role, he definitely looked a cut above the majority of rest.
He was very dynamic, easily beating his man almost at will.
He worked very hard too and wasn't afraid to track back.
His decision making should improve over time but it isn't bad as it stands.
He might not be ready for the seniors just yet, he has just turned eighteen, but if he continues developing it wont be long and he has the potential to be a star.

Did Klopp say on Friday Sturridge has had 4 days any chance he could a surprise in the bench tonight?

The new gf has requested to watch this game with me, it will be the first football game she has ever watched which means we will lose 4-0.

Paddy Power has a special up in shops. Both teams to score 11/10. Probably worth a crack.

Oh not much, it was only a 3 quid bet... 80 odd quid. My mate Sam who bought the pub off me won 1400 for a 5 quid bet on Saturday. Just doing above or below 2.5 goals on about 8 matches.

Liverpool FC fans are being asked take part in one minute’s applause in tonight’s Capital One Cup semi-final second leg against Stoke City in memory of an 11-year-old fan who sadly passed away after a battle with leukaemia.
The applause will take place in the 12th minute of the match and members from supporters group Spion Kop 1906 will be holding up a flag that was made in honour of Owen McVeigh.
The flag, which shows an image of a boy wearing a Liverpool FC shirt with the name “McVeigh” on the back walking hand in hand with a man in silhouette, will make its debut on the Kop tonight.
The flag has the words “It’s off to the match we go” on the bottom, which are lyrics to one of the songs that are regularly sung on the Kop.

The St Paul and St Timothy's pupil, from West Derby, would regularly help the Spion Kop 1906 group wave flags before games at Anfield.
In an emotional message on the Spion Kop 1906 Facebook page Mark paid tribute to his son and “best mate”, and said he would always cherish memories of watching their team together.
He wrote: “I brought Owen up to understand the traditions and values of our great club and he was so proud to call himself a Liverpudlian. The best times we shared together were at the match, and especially at the away games, I enjoyed every minute of them with my best mate. Regardless of the result we had fantastic times together and they are memories that I will cherish forever.
“On Valentines day last year me and Owen travelled to Selhurst park for the FA Cup tie with Crystal Palace and at the end of the game Martin Skrtel gave Owen his shirt off his back. Owen was so happy and his picture was all over Twitter and Facebook and the Liverpool Echo also got hold of the story. He loved it, he was like a mini celeb at all the games, he was so proud. When Owen passed away Martin sent us a lovely letter.
“On Sunday at the Man Utd game I approached the Spion Kop 1906 group and told them I would like to do something on behalf of Owen regarding a flag and the response I got was fantastic. I was completely blown away with what they came up with. These are young men that give up their time at every game to make Anfield a sea of flags and banners. They do this with donations and all money raised goes into their flag fund.

“I can never thank them enough for what they are doing in Owen’s name and the family are so happy and proud. On a personal note I will take great pride in seeing Owen there at every game.”
The McVeigh family is planning to set up a foundation in Owen’s name to raise money to help children, including those helped by cancer support group CHICS.

  • Liverpool have never lost a League Cup semi-final leg at Anfield, although the past two have been draws (won eight, drawn seven).
  • Stoke have not won at Anfield in any competition since March 1959, going 36 visits without a victory (drawn five, lost 31).
Oh I jinxed the fuck out of the game didn't I....haha
