Stoke away - 10th September

No !

Carragher is exactly the type of defender that Crouch never does well against, although you're probably making a more general point which I'd still agree with.

Yeah, it's a more general point. Crouch has only ever looked any good to me when playing in a team that strokes the ball along the ground. Every time he's used as a target man, both he and the team are usually shit. He'll get his head to the ball, but he rarely seems to have any control over where it goes after that, and he hardly *ever* scores with his head.

Exactly against stoke 3 center backs and 2 wing backs we will win 2--0

But he does have the ability to take down long balls from centre halves, dribble them back into his own half and complete the one two with the centre back.

It shouldn't be underestimated

Crouch only plays well when he's the worst player in the forward line. He doesn't have that luxury at Stoke.

-------------Reina--------------
Carra---Skrtel--Agger---Enrique
---------Lucas--Adam----------
Kuyt--------------------Downing
---------Suarez----------------
----------------Carroll----------

Bench - Doni, Flannigan, Coates, Spearing, Henderson, Maxi, Bellamy

I also expect that to be more or less the team.

Clearly won't be seeing Carra at rb ever again as Kenny appeared to acknowledge he doesn't have the legs for it anymore by playing Skrtel there against Bolton. Any news on Kelly injury anyway?

I reckon Kenny may very well go 3 centre backs again.

Reina

Johnson (if kelly injured)
Carra
Coates
Agger
Enrique

Lucas
Adam

Suarez
Downing

Kuyt

Doni, Skrtel, Carroll, Henderson, Bellamy, Spearing, Maxi

Hmm harsh on Henderson actually but don't see how to fit him and downing into this formation.

It's a bit mad to throw Coates into this game. Perhaps the most physical and direct team in the most hostile stadium and, probably, against the only ever Liverpool player taller than him, who's also making his debut and desperate to please the baying hordes. Err, no thanks.

Carroll will start though, I'd be amazed if he doesn't.

He's like a lanky golden retriever

Really don't want to see Johnson thrown back in, least of all away at Stoke, the defence has looked great without him.

MK/JF----CArra---Agger---Enrique-
----------Lucas---Adam---------------

I think..

------------------------Reina------------------------
Johnson-----Carra----------Agger-----Enrique
--------------Lucas------------Adam--------------
Henderson------------------------------Downing
-----------------Suarez----------------------------
------------------------Carroll----------------------

but i would like to see..

------------------------Reina------------------------
--------Carra---------Coates-------Agger--------
Johnson-----------------------------------Enrique
-------------------Lucas--Adam--------------------
----Suarez---------Carroll--------Downing------

6'6 Coates so that he can deal with Crouch and the long throws

Personally I'd put Bellamy in there aswell because we need pace away from home.
[/quote]

There's a strong case for them all mate.

This will undoubtedly be a physical battle and maybe one which big Andy will relish and fired up for.

As we've seen before, Kuyt and Suarez work well together...Kuyt's movement, intelligence and wait for it...work rate, more often than not causes problems for the opposition.

As for Bellamy, he's pacy, direct and generally a menace for defenders. You'd imagine the likes of Shawcross and Huth will be starting and they're not defenders that like facing quick and nippy strikers like Bellamy.

No matter who partners Suarez(if we go 2 up top that is), lets hope they do the business.
