Steven Gerrard & Rangers

Hes a decent coach but their squad is a complete mess
Lost Scotty Brown, Kris Ajer and Elyounessi but appears they’ve brought some unknown Israeli international striker, Japanese international striker and Swedish international CB.
Somehow still kept hold onto the likes of McGregor Forrest and Edouard

Let’s see how FC Pacos de Ferreira and their Brazilians do at Inver Park with a big Larne welcome.

Avoided clash with PSV who whacked Galatasaray 7-2 over 2 legs.

Not sure how Celtic got themselves into a state where they had to make do with such patch up defence including a central defence made up of 2 young players - one who just made his professional senior debut in the 1st leg, another who has less than 20 top flight appearances (from a couple of seasons ago). Absolute shambles.

We can’t really say much when we were playing Williams and Phillips last season!

Big easy win against Livingston in their opener.

and Celtic of course 1-0 down already, Title already Rangers.

That Celtic manager is a bit out his depth isn’t he?

Great goal by Celtic,,RB curls it on his weaker foot.

the Celtic CBS and Keeper have been tragic , fannying around at the back all game.

Dreamy said they had got a great manager in... first nail in the coffin right away
He is and given time and resources he’ll get them back where they belong. Celtics squad is in awful shape which he inherited.
Will be interesting to see how the season unfolds.
I think Gerard will leave mid way through the year like Rodgers.

Dreamy... exactly what do you base Postecoglou’s brilliance on?

I couldn't give a shit about Scottish football (and I don't really get the running commentary on all things Rangers even if Gerrard is there - I check in on how he's doing from time to time but that's it).

That being said, it's a bit early to get in the "I told you so's" and lols after one game, isn't it?

You clearly don't get how taking the piss out of Dreamy works !

Well... yes and no - Postecoglou is a decent coach at a certain level - the A-League & J-League and is untested at the top level - but... a “great coach”???

He isn’t a “great” coach and he’s a really odd choice for Celtic - even to the extent that he’s rarely coached elite level footballers or been involved in elite level football. I don’t think he has a pro license either.

To give context... 15 years ago I think he was coaching Ryan O’Hare, while Ryan was posting on here.

So Ryan, was the exception that proved the rule. DB must be so proud

But they already knew their back 4 situation - both full backs were on loan + Ajer was going and had the off season to fix it. Perhaps waiting for managerial appointment or for CL qualification $$

Even before the loss at Hearts most of my Celtic mates were predicting Celtic will finish lower than 2nd.
