I've had enough ownership politics to last a lifetime.

NO THANKS, some stability until 2020 at least please

Andy Heaton of the Anfield Wrap still insisting it's real

He is a bit of a tit though

Maybe FSG leaked the letter and want other interested buyers to know that they got a £700m offer. If they want to buy the club they will need to offer more than that.

Honestly thought the club was worth loads more than that... but just looked up the mancs and they've slipped from a market cap of around 2bn to around 1.6. So it's the kind of offer you'd go in with for a club that hasn't been as successful recently, has a smaller ground and also isn't in the CL I guess.

Either way, I don't think the lizards would chop out for any less than a billion.

Do you call the last five years stability? Change after change after change after change. They changed everything they could change more than once. I do hope that they now will let Klopp build up the club together with a DoF and a sporting director. A DoF and a sporting director that other clubs, managers, owners and players respect.

We need stability but so far FSG isn't the right owner if we want that.

So explain the roles and hierarchy here;
What is a DoF and Sporting Director and whats' their difference?
How do you measure their success?
What happens when they disagree with Klopp?
What would be their salaries?
Who are the likely contenders and can we get them?
Didn't Klopp say he wanted the first and last word on transfers, so how would a prospective DoF and Sporting Director deal with that?
What does Barry Hunter do, our Chief Scout? That needs looking in to I say.

At
Can see them selling 49% very soon and the rest if we miss out on a CL place again.

I do doubt that the club is only worth £700m. Lucas is worth much more than that, much more.
At least £700m and 1p

  1. A DoF acts like a chief scout and talks to the manager every day. He or she also organize the football bit. A sporting director do all the negotiations with other clubs and do the football economics bit.
  2. How successful we are when it comes down to signing and selling players and the stability between the manager, the DoF and the sporting director.
  3. They will of course disagree about a lot things and when it happens then it comes down to what they disagree about. If it is a financial thing then the sporting director have the last say and if it is a football bit then the manager have the last say.
  4. I don't have a clue but it would be a lot cheaper than splashing out £32.5m on someone like Benteke.
  5. The contender for the DoF should be someone Klopp want because he will talk to him or her every day. The sporting director someone that is respected by the manager and the DoF. DoF candidates.....Hamann, Hyypiä or Fowler. Sporting director, don't have a clue.
  6. It would be no problem if it someone Klopp want and respect.
  7. I doubt that even Barry Hunter himself know what his job is.

Would being bought by the chinese state be the equivalent of a sugar daddy or would we be worse off? It seems that chelski, psg and city were bought by sugar daddies as dick swinging contests, and even the later two being under the guise of state purchases, would the chinese go down the same route or see us as just a minor investment that they're happy to extract 25-50mill a year from?

FFF has nailed this.

Even if its genuine, it isn't an offer to buy the club.

At best its an offer to build a new stadium in return for a share of the club.

"...organize football bit", what does that mean? Why does he (the DoF) need to speak to the manager everyday? This could be the hierarchy, Owner gives Sporting Director (SD) a budget. SD tells manager this is budget. Manager tell Chief Scout (CS) to find players that particular roles and are available around budget. CS comes back to manager with list. Manager approves list gives it to SD to go and get. No need for a DoF. right?

Well, the Spanish clubs that are the most successful in the world organize the club the way I want. They have many specialists instead of a few people doing things they are not qualified to do.

He's on the Anfield Wrap, Ninja. I wouldn't really call him a journalist though some of them are. No idea if they still get invited to the press conferences and that as I haven't listened to it in ages.

Oh stop, some of us remember 2007-2010. It's paradise in comparison. Changing managers without success is normal. It's light years better and we've got money now.

'Holy Bullshit Batman'! After all that effort, his name at the end is printed 'Zheng' but signed 'Zhang'.

I like the idea that a takeover of this scale starts with a letter written by the buyers 4 year old son.

It's fun
