So, I went to see the UEFA Cup final last week - a City supporting mate got a little bit too excited earlier in the season - and was very impressed with Srna.

His name has been doing the rounds for years now and I've always greeted it with a bit of a meh, but that performance, although nothing special, has finally convinced me.

He seemed to play the whole game in second gear, effortlessly pinging about 40 yard passes (like our very own Xabi) and generally just looked very classy. The only downside was a bit of petulance with the referee and a moment of casual defending.

If he's available for a reasonable fee, we should sign him.

Also, Bremen were fucking terrible and Shaktar's long haired CB was very good.

Do you think he could cope with the high tempo pace?

We had this discussion already Keni.

I want him too. But price may be an obstacle... How much you reckon?

Well, it was hard to judge in that particular game to be honest. Bremen afforded him acres of space throughout the whole game and were pretty sluggish and shit all round. I think he'd be okay.

No idea. He's their captain and a big name, so I doubt he'll be as cheap as we'd like.

Perhaps more cost effective than Johnson though.

Yeah, he would be a more effective attacker for sure and could probably cover RW too when required.
Must check out how long is left on his contract.

I think Srna would cost about as much as Johnson and there is no question that at this point Srna is a better player. But I dont think England is his league. He is very good at drawing and exaggerating fouls, always rolling on the grass in "pain", and often just blatantly dives. It's so much a part of his game now that it would be hard to adjust to a league where such behaviour is not tolerated. He'd get slaughtered by media, fans, and refs too. Good player though.

Well, that's a shame. I was hoping his silly antics in the final weren't typical of him.
