Spurs total revenue for the past financial year is 119.7m. Our wage bill for the same period is said to be roughly 120m. Spurs wage bill = 60m.

If ever you needed evidence that our major problem was giving big money contracts to undeserving recipients there it is.

Fucking hell.

I don't think they are being subsidised, they have always been strict with the wage bill and had no issues cashing in on players when good offers came in. Carrick, Keane, Berbatov alone made them something like 45m.

It does look like Harry is stretching the club financially now though. If they lose CL football this season they may suffer for a.while
They won't suffer. They will do their usual trick and sell "the new Giggs" Gareth Bale to the mancs for around 25 million with Pienaar as a very able replacement (for 2 million now or for free in the summer). They are generally a well-run club and that deserves respect.

Rooting for Citeh to finish ahead of Spurs is like rooting for a fat rich bully to beat up a smart Jewish kid in school. For me it's inconceivable.

The other slightly worrying thing about them is they have a new stadium on the horizon too. They may not fall away any time soon.

The thing is I think a lot of the good work at Spurs was done under Arneson and Commoli. Now they have Harry Redknapp, who has a proven record of bankrupting clubs. Let's hope it continues.

Tottenham 'would demolish Olympic Stadium after Games' Tottenham Hotspur says the Olympic Stadium "doesn't work for football"

Tottenham Hotspur FC has confirmed it would demolish most of the Olympic Stadium if it won the bid to take it over after the 2012 Games.

Stadium architect David Keirle said the club would use its own money to redevelop the stadium for its use.

Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United have both submitted bids to occupy the facility after the Olympics has begun.

The Olympic Park Legacy Committee (OPLC) will recommend who will take over the stadium by 28 January.

The decision will then be agreed by London mayor Boris Johnson and the government.

Tottenham said it would demolish the stadium because it feels the venue is not suitable for football with seats being too far away, for example.

'Lacking tangible legacy'

Architect David Keirle said: "It's not entirely demolition. We will be using some of the undercroft (cellar) but we're not using much.

"We may be taking some elements to Crystal Palace for its redevelopment."

He said it would be an easier and cheaper solution for Tottenham to go to the Olympic Stadium rather than redevelop its ground White Hart Lane, as the club would spend about the same but get more for its money.

Spurs playing away from home?
BBC London 2012
If West Ham wins the bid, it has offered to reduce the 80,000-seat venue in Stratford, east London, to a 60,000 capacity after the Games.

It would cost the club between £150m and £180m to convert the venue by extending the roof, creating a pitch, turnstiles, toilets and space for corporate hospitality.

It would borrow £40m from Newham Council.

The chairman of UK Athletics, Ed Warner, said Tottenham Hotspur's proposal was "completely lacking a tangible Olympic legacy".

"Instead they have confirmed their intention to demolish the Olympic stadium.

"The promise made by the London 2012 bid team in Singapore in 2005 was for an athletics legacy in the stadium, and the global athletics community expect this promise to be kept."

Can't see this happening, especially due to the legacy post games etc. I wonder what spurs fans think of this, moving to East London?

that's not going to change anytime soon.
babel will be sold relatively easily, he is 24 years old.
but jove, poulsen, koncheskey, etc? aging players on massive wages, who is going to take them off our hands?

Nobody, of course.

He isn't suggesting it's going to change.

He's basically stating that we pay twice as much as Spurs for a squad about a tenth as good.

He's been saying we pay too much for shit players this whole season, and he's been getting stick every step of the way because if we somehow had a good manager we would somehow be at the top end of the table.

That fallacy has just been ripped to shreds.

Bale is world class.

Sorry to break it to you.
He's not world class yet pat, he could very easily be however. He looks so average some games yet other games can demolish teams. Consistency needs to be there for him to be world class

I have never minded Spurs, they have always been entertaining to watch from Hoddle, Waddle, Hazard, Ozzie A, Villa to Gazza, Lineker, Ginola and now Bale.

They have a real fuck it lets attack them attitude and I have always admired it.

They have the best squad in the PL IMO and if they could firm up that defence as it is always injured they could really challenge.

I will be at White Hart Lane next week funny enough, I just won some business down there and I am due to sign contracts, have lunch at the ground and visit the new training ground. I am looking forward to it actually, the missus just wants me to get her a photo and autograph of MR B.

They are a really good team, I would prefer them to win it than City, mancs, ars or chavs

Religious people have less hatred to go around?

Although if I'm going to start hating every team that's overtaken us then my future is going to be very disturbing.
Yeah,

that sums it up for me.

I've long respected Spurs - liked the football they played and admired the very well run nature of the club. They did a lot of what FSG say they want to do - bought a lot of good young talent and played that talent. They didn't go out spending ridiculous amounts on players but they bought wisely and sold wisely. If we had done business half as well as them over the last 7 years we'd have been champions on a couple of occasions by now.

Redknapp, however, is their achilles heal and for all my respect for Spurs as a club I hope his viral affect will become evident shortly.

I'd have to agree with Dreamy on this one FFF; I can't think of many other left sided players who'd be placed ahead of him; Ronaldo (does he really play on the left anyway?), Robben; after that it's arguable that there are any others who are ahead of him - at least on form. Naturally this would be up to personal judgement to an extent but I imagine there are only a handful of clubs in the world who don't feel he'd improve them just a little.

I hated Spurs last year, when they were crowing and acted as if they've supplanted us in the Big Four (which they probably had)

Now that our place is fttingly in the Big Fifteen, I dont really care about Spurs.

Whilst I don't believe Spurs will leave Tottenham, it's obvious to me that, should they move to Stratford, their name should be Olympic Hotspur.
