Potentially hit the dizzy heights of 9th if we win. 4th if other results go our way.

Last 5 games doesn't look so good

Liverpool - LLDWD
Spurs - DWWWD

But we've just got a new game changer 🙂

It's becoming more and more clear that Klopp has invigorated the Liverpool fan base.
A pre match thread one week before the game? That's pretty rare.

Yep that's what I was thinking. We barely even had Match Threads lately, let alone early Prematch threads.

Spurs are pretty decent now under Pochettino -- which makes it sweeter when we beat them.

it's gonna be a long week

If we play well, they show fight, & we're not embarrassed then the scoreline is almost irrelevant.

My beloved wife knows less about footy than most small root vegetables, yet last night I said the lads were organising a trip into town to watch the match, & she commented that it'd been ages since they showed that much interest, so I explained.

She immediately said "The fella will have been in the job less than a week, it'd be a miracle to have that big an impact in a week".

Sums it up nicely.

I'd like to see a bit more organisation in terms of tactics, like an actual coherent plan, see that he's trying to sort the defence out, & I'd like to see the players showing real fight again.

Anything else would just be a bonus.

This is who we have out allegedly:

P Coutinho Groin/Pelvis Injury 17th Oct 15
D Ings Ankle/Foot Injury 12th Oct 15
R Firmino Back Injury 31st Oct 15
D Lovren Ankle/Foot Injury 22nd Oct 15
J Henderson Metatarsal Fracture21st Nov 15
J Flanagan serious knee injury Dec 15

Countinho Ings & Firmino will probably be fine by next week. Lovren maybe too.

I wouldn't take injury return dates to seriously in most cases when international matches are on.

Firmino's been out well before them though .. and that date has actually gone back to the end of the month. I doubt he'll be anywhere near ready.

This kid is a lovely player and I can't wait to see him play under Klopp in his proper position rather than being shunted out wide as a WB as under Rodgers.

It will go three ways...

1) our players will be out to impress so much they will go for it and fight for their places, and we win
2) new instructions are too much for our players brains and Klopp will have his wish of 'ALL' players do things wrong in equal measure and we lose.
3) boring draw

I am hoping it is the first route.

If you are in the right position to begin with, you win the tackle, and you pass the ball early, then you shouldn't be covering hardly any distance at all.

Harry Kane: Tottenham know Liverpool will be pumped up under Jürgen Klopp
• German’s first match in charge takes place at White Hart Lane on Saturday
• Liverpool’s England players ‘could not wait to work under him’ says Kane

Harry Kane during England’s 3-0 win against Lithuania in Vilnius on Monday. The striker’s Spurs side face Liverpool on Saturday.

Harry Kane anticipates a reaction from Liverpool’s players to the recent appointment of Jürgen Klopp when they visit White Hart Lane on Saturday, but the England striker has suggested Tottenham Hotspur’s excellent fitness levels might actually be better suited to the German’s preferred style of play.

Spurs are unbeaten in the Premier League since the opening day of the campaign and have quietly risen to within touching distance of the European places playing the high energy football favoured by Mauricio Pochettino. Klopp will aim to emulate that high pressing game at Liverpool but, having taken his first day of training on Monday and with the majority of the side’s international players only now returning to their Melwood base, he may need time to impose his own demands on the squad.

“In the first couple of games after a managerial appointment everybody tries to impress so they will probably have that little 5% extra than usual,” said Kane as he contemplated the Saturday lunchtime kick-off in north London. “We expect that. The Liverpool players at England could not wait to get back to start working under him. But we have out-run every team we have played so far this season and that’s a sign we’re playing the manager’s tactics right and are fit enough to do it. And that’s what we have to do again on Saturday. Obviously Liverpool, with a new manager, will be up for it. But we know what we have to do.
