There was a totally different look about him (Karius) when he faced Huddersfield - you could see an arrogance in his look that I have not seen since Pepe - I think he is gonna come good now. The only way a Liverpool goalkeeper comes good is if he ignores or rather does not give a shit what the fans think, and shrugs off any mistakes he makes. Goalkeepers always make errors - I don't care who they are, its their ability to put those things out of their mind and carry on as if nothing happened. Some of the stuff levelled at him is unjustified - as some people have concluded he is rubbish and the only way he can win them over is if performs the impossible when really it is impossible.

Even Achterberg is getting assistance so it seems

LFC employ goalkeeper consultancy coach to help John Achterberg

This is very interesting news…

According to former Austria no.1 Helge Payer, Hans Leitert is currently working with Liverpool to help the first-team goalkeepers.

Leitert runs a GK consultancy firm and clinic, having published a book called “The Art Of Goalkeeping Or The Seven Principles Of The Masters,” while holding a Masters degree in Sport Science.

Husullye works with clubs under Red Bull’s ownership, but is spending time at Liverpool sharing some wisdom.

There’s no official word from the club, but this kind of thing would rarely be publicised anyway – as Leitert is not an official employee.

Oliver Pfister shared the news:

Liverpool’s goalkeeper coach John Achterberg has been criticised by plenty of supporters for the performances of our stoppers over the years, but if Jurgen Klopp thinks he’s capable, he probably is.

However, extra help shouldn’t go amiss, with Loris Karius now the no.1 ahead of Simon Mignolet.

The young German has from now until the end of the season to prove he’s capable of being our long-term no.1, or Liverpool will go in for a new stopper in the summer.

David Preece (ex-Sunderland goalkeeper) and one of the game's best current goalkeeping analysts did a really good piece on Karius's performance. Worth looking at if you want an actual informed view.

Here's David's "actual informed view" of Claudio Bravo after his calamitous mistakes in the manchester derby:

"If you look back at both mistakes, they are actually positive decisions and as a rule you’d applaud them for being bold.
In six weeks’ time Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s goal will be less likely to happen because the hours spent together during games and on the training pitch will mean Bravo’s voice and style of play will be more known to John Stones and their work together will be less jarring and much more cohesive"

And of course, he made some interesting points about Joel Robles being Everton's long-term successor to Tim Howard:

"To keep his decision-making clear and consistently correct requires a calm, more relaxed mind, and both this and his positions can be worked on in training and using relaxation techniques in his pre-match routine. When we see a more relaxed Robles holding better positions, his trust in himself will increase, and we will then see a keeper looking like the long-term answer to Everton, post-Tim Howard".

Again, he was spot on with his assessment that Anders Lindegaard could be Man Utd's savior, with De Gea struggling:

"Along with his confidence, he is calm and assured, exactly what Unitedʼs defence crave. As a defender, you donʼt mind what decisions your keeper makes as long as he makes one. With De Gea, his indecision has been costly and his insecurity has spread through the back four like chicken pox at a kids party. Stability has to be instilled in the coming weeks to counter the disappointment of Wednesdayʼs defeat and Anders Lindegaard is the man to provide it."

Here's more on Bravo:

"Writing off Bravo after one game... He's showed more than enough in La Liga to deserve a bit more time to adapt.
Very good goalkeeper who had a mare in ONE game. At times you could see why he's more suited than Hart with passing the ball through Utds pressing. Communication was a problem but he's been there for 2 weeks."

"Bravo was a very good keeper yes, he proved that for Real Sociedad, Barca and for Chile. There exicst a world of football outside England you know".

Oh wait, that wasn't Preece. That was Hansern.

I'm still holding out hope for Karius.

I may regret it mind.
I'm gonna give him a clean slate.

If he progresses with van Dijk calling the shots (he called him out to collect a few times against spurs), then we MAY see the best of him

I'm sure last few years it's been a vicious circle. Our defenders make the keeper uneasy, then the uneasiness behind them makes the CBS worse, and so on.

Karius came to a defence that was terrified .

Van Dijk basically came to a shitting, shaking dog.

Still hacking phones eh?
Old habits and all that.

We've all made player predictions we'd wish we hadn't Bren.

Some people for instance thought Danny Guthrie would be "10 times the player Lucas ever is". He currently plies his trade for Indonesian heavyweights Mitra Kukar.

Did you have any concerns with Preece's actual analysis of Karius's game?

I notice how bravely Lamela trys to get to his feet after the assault by Van Djyk when the penalty is originally not given before collapsing to the ground again once the linesman flags for it.

I was one of those on the Danny Guthrie hype train. Don't think I've been as enthused about a youngster since until TAA really

Can open, worms everywhere. You do know what the obvious retort will be, don't you?
