Tottenham midfielder Didier Zokora will lead an exodus from White Hart Lane this summer.

The Ivory Coast star is likely to return to France, while Gareth Bale, David Bentley, Heurelho Gomes, Roman Pavlyuchenko, Tom Huddlestone and Darren Bent are all up for sale. Boss Harry Redknapp might even contemplate a big offer for Croatia playmaker Luka Modric.

Bale, Bentley, Huddlestone and Bent would do nicely in our squad.. Decent amount of Englishness aswell (I know Bale is Welsh..)

I like Bent, always have

He would be my choice

And Modric is a talent, if a bit erratic

Always liked Jenas, too, God knows why

And lennon

I should start supporting Spurs

Why would they sell Bent, he was their top scorer by a country mile.

Modric would never be on my wish list.

Rest of their squad is plain average.

I'll rank them in order of interest:

1) Darren Bent - the ideal back-up striker for Torres and we should be sniffing around

2) Bale - we could do with a new LB; Aurelio's good but patchy, Dossena's shit and Insua's has been overrated for sheer competence. Not sure he's the right player though, he's cursed for one, but there is potential and he's a good set-piece taker.

3) Lennon - I do like him a lot (ignoring the cunty haircut/eyebrows and the diamond earings) but would probably be overpriced given the competition, the fact that he's English and a winger, as well as the Spurs board seeing him as their star asset.

4) Modoric - Should be playing in Spain really, he has obvious quality but his small frame limits his impact in so many games. I know Fergie's a fan of his...

5- Bentley - bit of a cunt but I'd take him on the cheap. the season before last he was very, very good, and it'd be worth a gamble for somebody. Probably not us, though.

Didn't Iniesta put that fallacy to bed for good the other night? A slight frame can be used to a players advantage.

You're completely right.

Spurs fans changed their opinion of Modoric having watching Iniesta on Wednesday night.

Christ.

Yeah I know, I was thinking back to that nonsense 'Liverpool VS United' clash for Lennon which was reported a few weeks ago.

Twat.

My point stands (even if you "cleverly" refuse to acknowledge it). A small frame does not limit your impact in any game - it's how you use it. Too many decent young players are written off as being too lightweight when it's exactly that physical attribute (when used correctly) that makes them so elusive with the ball.

Iniesta is as small framed /lightweight as anyone and he uses that to maintain incredible balance when carrying the ball. Modric, to my mind, is of a similar (if not as illustrious) ilk.

On another note, most Spurs fans I know (and a large percentage of my friends in London are season ticket holders) hold Modric in very high regard, and are expecting big things from him next season.

I think it's a fair concern when a small/slight/weak/ whatever player is going to play in the Premiership.

The archetypal modern Premiership player is Steven Gerrard; six foot plus of brick shit-house muscle and power

Bent movement up front is exceptional, i'd be happy with him as back up for Torres an starting the odd game. I'd take Pav... to a lesser extent too.

I really can't be bothered with this 'cos it's dragging this thread off-topic, but using Iniesta as an example in a European match against a lethargic, toothless United side to Modoric playing 38 games in the hustle and bustle of the Prem is a bit silly.

Despite his technical quality, Modoric has never been that dominant during his time at Spurs, and you only have to look at Luis Garcia who was twice the player in Europe as in the Prem to see that it does make a huge difference. The two Spurs fans I know, who're identical twins admittedly, think they overspent on a quality footballer who is, at best, inconsistent and they don't think he'll ever flourish in the Premiership. Having seen him 6 or 7 times this season I wouldn't disagree with them.

Size isn't everything; Scholes, Zola, etc are perhaps more fitting examples, but they were also blessed with an infinite amount of other footballing qualities, which more than compensated. The bottom line is, I don't think Modoric has enough of everything else. At best he'll be a good player for them. Not the great, mega effective £16M pound player he could be somewhere else.

Bent - Decent enough striker who will get 15 goals a year.

Bale - Shit footballer, fast runner.

Bentley - Overrated muppet who has been found out at Spurs

Modric - A talent who has faded as the season has gone on, has the potential to be a great player.

Lennon - Enjoying his first 'good' season, it remains to be seen if he has a second.

The Modric ive seen under Redknapp has been very good. I don't think hes faded as the season has gone on at all, if anything its the opposite.

Well maybe I am mistaking discipline for a loss of the dazzle he had when he first arrived. He is more composed around the pitch now, but when he first came he was making great runs, seeing spaces others didn't and sometimes winning games by himself. That is the Modric I like.

How many games did he win by himself then at the start of the season?

I thought Spurs hardly won a game early on.

Agreed. He's got much better as the season's gone on, which is what you expect from a young foreign player in this league. He's a very tidy little player. Hopefully, Spurs don't sell him to the Mancs as they seem to do with all their top players (sell them, that is).

I meant early on in his time at Spurs, once Ramos figured how to play him anyway. I mean more or less the first third, some of them were cup games & some prem. I remember watching a few games where he was chasing everybody down, spreading the ball all over the shop, defending, and providing the passes/through ball/cross for the winning/drawing goal/s in games.

Harry Redknapp is absolutely ridiculous in the transfer market. If he had no players left to sell he'd start selling fucking goalposts.

Ps idiots

Gareth Bale isn't fast at all
[/quote]

He is, it's just that for him to be fast he has to lay the ball off first. He is shit regardless.
