Spirit of Shankly dialogue with NESV/FSG

NESV made complete fools of SOS there. And rightly so - that was a bit unneccesary that letter.

I wonder will this be the final straw for them.

For who ?

SOS.

Surely they have enough self awareness to realise they are now pretty much irrelevant and looking increasingly silly.

I doubt it, but they'd probably plough on even if they did. Sorry but I suspect they'll hang around like a bad smell.

My God,what a reply.

I'm also a bit annoyed with the letter; because there are some issues which they've touched on which would benefit from some dialogue..things like the season ticket issue, and even travel issues. But it was done in an incredibly insensitive, arrogant and condescending manner which arguably better deserved a response along the lines of the Hicks fucktards.

I hope the owners don't regard the letter as being representative of all fans, and try to settle those issues as best they can.

Frankly, I don't know if that reply was directly from John Henry or someone in PR; but whoever it was seems to understand this club much beter than SOS.

Brilliant response by nesv.

To be honest the sos letter deserved a 'blow me fuck face' response!
They're such a bunch of pre madonna c*nts!

Lovely response. I've had faith (more than most, perhaps) about FSG/NESV since they came in but things like this really take it to the next level. So professional in dealing with twits.

I still like "blow me fuckface" though.

I respect SOS' efforts against previous owners and their efforts in providing cheaper mode of travel etc. But I also wish they dont use the word supporters so loosely.

"Re:What The Supporters of LFC Can Do For You" was the title of their memo.

Such a perfect word to sum them up. Can we rechristen them TOS?

Hahahaha, they chewed them up and spat them out with that one.

It's a relief to me that they sussed out SoS so quickly and so well.

19th century unionists meeting 21st century sharp business.
Clever also that they refer to Bill Shankly and Mr Shankly.
I liked this bit along the lines of who the fuck do you think you are.................

I think it's clear from several statements in the response what the owners thought about this:

Have to say the letter in a work of art as far as putdowns and effortless dismissals go.
We've a saying here, that "every pin/needle prick draws blood" (i.e. every punch scores a point).
That was a classic illustration of that there.

Respectfully, so many of your other questions and areas of inquiry directly relate back to the period of the prior owners and the fall?out from that time. We respect what supporters accomplished in demanding change. We indeed understand what you went through in the period prior to our ownership. We went through a small part of it ourselves and it wasn’t pleasant. But those days are over. We have a different agenda. We have won championships in major league baseball and we will win more. And we will win in Liverpool as well.
You know of course we are new here and trying to get a fresh, clean start. You can help us move forward with that agenda—but it runs across the grain to welcome us with a series of long, written cross?examination questions from a solicitor.

Says it all really

This has been pretty much condemned on nearly every fans forum as far too aggressive and a bad move by SOS

We must have players who feel a responsibility to the Club and the supporters. We must say to them, “Gentlemen, you play for a Club that has an incredible history – where extraordinary events have taken place that captured the hearts of people around the world. It wasn’t chance that created such a huge and passionate base of supporters as far away as Asia where millions root for you each match. They root for you because over the years Liverpool had men like you wearing red who did astonishing things – surprising things – exciting things. Your career has resulted in you – right now – playing for one of the greatest clubs in history – perhaps the most beloved club in football history. You may never again have an opportunity like this.†We need to know that every player that wears this red is committed to what the club is going to accomplish."

Brilliant. They get us.

Isn't it though?

That sounds like it could have been scrawled on the wall of the Boot Room.
