A bit of fun to start the week.

There's been noises that a move for Benteke isn't dependent on a Sterling sale (difficult as I find that to believe).

Anyway, with Sterling gone and us likely pocketing around 37m (after QPR cut) what would you spend our remaining kitty on?

Say we've got the 37m + a Benteke sized Striker purchase in us...65m....What would you do?

Lets hear your 1st choice targets and back-ups, if any.

I'd go all out for Lacazette (though wonder if we've already been put off that) and a top DM type, such as Illaremendi ( I would have gone for Imbula). Any money left over kept in reserve for January.

Throw 35M and 200k a week at Lacazette

Yeah, people talk about Lacazette like we have no chance because of no CL.

The PL talks. Money talks.

He's on about £15,000 a wk at Lyon. Give him a sniff of 100k a week that was offered to Raheem and believe me, him and his agent will be knocking on Aulas's door handing in a transfer request.

Balotelli will go on loan somewhere.
Borini we'll get 5M for.
Lambert will be sold for 1.5M to some lower table shite.

We probably can get rid of Enrique for 3m or so too.

Final year of contract, has been largely inactive for about two seasons. This one is an unfortunate case of injuries wrecking any residual value of the player. He's done in the top flight I think; maybe a loan to a Championship team beckons for this season and then leaves on a free. Or maybe a loan back to a lowly club back in the La Liga.

We'll be lucky to get 1m from anyone under these circumstances.

Thanks studsup, didnt know his contract was in its final year. Pity cos he seemed pretty good when he first joined.

Didnt Crystal Palace want him in January?

No idea about the Palace link. Would've been really odd if they did, given he's been a sicknote for so long. Unless they fancied that they could actually tweak him and get him to appear in more games. Martin Kelly, for example, managed to play 31 (!!!) league games for them.

If we are lining up like this at Stoke I won't be complaining

Mignolet

Clyne
Sakho
Skrtel
Moreno

Illaramendi
Henderson
Coutinho

Firmino
Sturridge
Lazcazette (Or however you spell it)

Thats pretty godamm strong IMO.

Apart from the fact Sturridge is out until about October it looks decent.

is this the stage of the season where we try for some top player, fans get excited, then he fucks off to Arsenal, Chelsea or elsewhere?

There's no way we won't play Milner against Stoke. Well, if he's injured we won't.

why spend huge amounts? i like the idea of us getting gomez and balo going the other way as has been reported.
unless its 50min on higuain...

Milner is an absolute cert to start virtually every game he's fit for.

I think with Sterling now gone, there will be 2 players coming in. A striker for sure, and probably another wing forward. Wouldn't be surprised to see us go for someone like Benteke and Walcott. I'd rather swap out the wing forward for a dedicated DM myself though.
We've got to get rid of borini, mario and lambert sharpish. I can see mario digging his heels in a refusing.
