Spell check and ting

Hi Mods - This is a bit of a case of me being a tart but I fucking hate the fact your spell checker thing is set to American English. I'm a terrible speller (ironically) so I love the fact you have one at all but is there not a setting you can swap it over to UK English? I mean Liverpool is in the UK so it's not being racist to Americans is it...

Cheers me dears X

Tart 😉

Not sure there's an option to add it. I never post off the site now, I'm always on mobile or tablet, so I've not noticed.

It's a huge bug bear of mine too, I hate American spellings of words. The amount of people who use that horrific word 'nite' instead of 'night' terrifies me.

Its a browser setting in chrome, yer tart...

Click the Customise and Control icon (three horizontal lines in the top right corner of the window) then Settings and at the bottom click Show Advanced Settings. Under Languages select Languages and spell-checker settings. Resist the urge to choose English, under English (United States); all this does is display a bizarre message that says this language cannot be used for spell checking… Instead click the Add button at the bottom of the page then select English (United Kingdom) from the drop down menu and click OK. This takes you back to the previous window where ‘Display Google Chrome in this Language’ and ‘Use this Language for spell checking’ should appear; on some versions these options have to be manually selected. Finally, click Done, or OK then close and restart Chrome, for the change to take effect.
