Will the last person to leave please turn off the light. Anyway thats what it feels like. Must be demoralising being a Southampton fan.

There seems to be a strange lack of rumours around the empty managerial post.

Neil Lennon maybe? I'll root for Hyypia to get his chance in the Premier League. 😉

They need someone who doesn't need to win anything to prove he is a winner, but he is a winner, to manage them

One of the supposed ITKs who they all seemed to trust on their board said (along with the fact that Lambert is defo gone for 4M) that there is a shortlist of candidates for the managerial post - all foreign.

Koeman is odds on with most betting sites, Yakin and Laudrup are the next favourites. McClaren and Moyes are up there also.

Have a feeling for Dyche based on nothing but a hunch, hes on the shortlist at around 16-1.

Their fans should be on suicide watch

Yep, 1 i know has already thrown in the towel and is predicting relegation next season.

Be out in the pub tommorow with a few more so it'll be interesting to see what they have to say, cant see how any of them will be positive about the situation, they are getting pillaged.

It must be incredibly shit for them, they had a good thing going and were building something good and along come the big clubs with their wrecking ball, the writing was on the wall when Cortese went, if he was there then i dont think Pochettino goes to Spurs and there would certainly be big resistance to other clubs taking their players, tbf they are resisting well atm but its inevitable whats going to happen.

That is the crux of the matter. That and the guy who bought them dying and leaving his daughter, who is totally disinterested, in control. She just wants to get her family's money back.

Think it's Yakin. He's left Basel anyway

Oh he did? Hmm interesting then. In terms of playing style, he'd probably be a better fit than Moyes. 😉

I don't have problems with Southampton as a club at all and feel sorry that the wheels seem to be all coming off of what could've been a promising period for them. I hope they get a proper manager and that they end up keeping some of their best players around (except those we want!), and bring through some more youngsters.

I'd much rather have Southampton in the league than the likes of West Ham, West Brom and Newcastle.... oh and effing QPR.

Yeah, matey dying certainly didn't help one bit, he was bang up for backing them and leaving it to Cortese to run the show.

Not sure if shes going to asset strip them or anything like that, total bitch if she does do the dirty as that wouldn't be what her old man wanted at all, he and now she is worth 3 billion quid so its not like she even needs money.

Reminds me of one comment I read on the Saints forum which read something like this "just our luck to get the one girl in the world who doesn't want to spend her fathers money".

You really do have to feel for them.
Always liked them as a club.

Ditto. It must be heart-breaking.

Put together a really good team with an excellent manager ... then the owner dies and it all goes to pot.

The manager of my son's U14 team is a mad Saints fan. He said they had a turkish guy who has won the Swiss league lined up - is that Yakin?

He also said Lallana is well worth > 20M and would be an ideal signing for us

He goes over quite a bit & is, apparently, well connected with the club

Some similarities to Swansea the season Rodgers left isn't there? Managers leaves, a few key players follow, side looks to be in trouble, etc. We'll see how many end up leaving, but if they buy well they could be alright.

Think the owner wants to sell the club and get some of the money back before they go. Shit for saints fans. We've been in a similar position ourselves where all our good players start getting flogged.

Reminds me of Wigan when they came up, had a very good season and then sold their better players and disappeared to obscurity
