Skrtel can be sold tomorrow for all that I care.
Yet another one step forward two steps back.

Season over and we'll finish 7th.

For all the talk we talk there is a helluva lot of doing thats missing.
Massive summer ahead for Rodgers.
He fucked up today.

Sorry ...i think i said Twat who starts a jinxy thread....

I meant to say FUCKING TWAT... you know who you are you cunts...

You start a match with allen and gerrard as your midfield then you're really not gonna get much of control in the game. Then add in skrtel playing like he doesn't give a fuck and we were always gonna lose. Awful team selection. I really thought rodgers would have learnt his lesson after the spurs game but he went with it again. its a joke.

I know I'll get shouted down for this...

... but do games like this not make you question Rodgers as a manager?

I know every manager picks the wrong team from time to time and oversees a bad performance but when we are up against it tactically there seems to be no way out.

This team has had the same faults all season long and the coaching staff have seemingly been able to do nothing about them. I know there are question marks around certain players but a good manager should be able to elicit some kind of improvement on the training ground.

The quality of the attack (largely Suarez) has masked our deficiencies elsewhere but they're there in every game - at times more visible than others - and it really concerns me that we seem to be effectively waiting to buy our way out of trouble.

IMO Rodgers did one thing wrong today. He should have never tried playing a two man midfield against a high pressing Southampton.
Lucas should have started.

The fact that he identified that Allen needed to be subbed shows that there's hope for Rodgers.

Great. But we were 2-1 down and whilst Lucas was a better fit for the system, the system wasn't working... so...

We were...poor. That is all there is to say. Poor passing, poor defending, poor movement off the ball, poor execution in the final third. Just poor. They were totally confident all over the pitch.

Rodgers didnt say anything wrong imho.
He got the selection wrong, but was let down by 90% of the players.
People might say Lucas is important, but how important is Carra??
We looked shocking defensively.

The biggest task this summer will be replacing him

Well that was a massive disappointment and no mistake. No consistency. It's not even about Europa spot(s)now it's just will we finish above the blueshite or not?

I missed the game - From the sounds of it I was lucky I missed it. Maybe if I had watched it we would have won therefore you can all blame me if you like.

Otherwise what the hell happened?

Do you really think thats what made the difference today Molby?

No.

But i know you shouldnt fucking do it just in case. Anyway.... when it fucks up it makes you look dim. Fucking sick of it chief.... I remember some fucking head the ball last season doing a "we will beat west brom 50 nil" thread...

fucking twat.

just fucking delete the fucking thread and ban the cunt ... give em a warning but then before they have time to heed it... ban the jinxy fucking cunt...

fucking jinxy bastards.

If the majority of the team was poor then you have to look at the manager. If it's just one or two individuals then you blame the individuals who were poor.

There's been too many times this season when the team as a whole simply haven't performed.

Everybody should be questioning Rodgers as a manager. He's done nothing in the game and the team he left has done better since his departure. Our 'progress' has seen us score more but also defend a lot worse (with a net gain of 3 points against this time last season at the same stage) whilst leaving us with no idea what sort of Liverpool team will turn up at the next match. It almost feels like any manager could deliver the same (The Rosco Theory).

We lost the first half by one goal with Allen on

We lost the second half by one goal with Lucas on

You have to wonder why he put an injured Allen in. However, Skrtel has been a joke this season. The guy is just a liability now.

I'm not convinced about Rodgers but until he's tried and built a defence, judgement should be suspended.

Our defence was shocking. Again. only Enrique turned on today. If not for Jones we would have been hammered.
We lost the battle at CM.
Our attack wasn't as good as it's been lately.
Southampton wated to win more than we did.

The project is not complete yet. Defence and CM should be sorted next.

If we had Lucas on from the start we would of been more solid in midfield..

We where getting over run for the first 40 minutes.. that is what lost us the game,.. after that we where chasing shadows..

Well yeah, but by equal token, he's braved it out of late and it's worked, so he deserves the plaudits for that too, going to Wigan attacking minded saw us get the points (even then there was some derision). Like you say, no manager is infallible. It was naive, but the problems you mention are mostly personnel issues, we need a new defense and a couple of additional players, it'll take time, we knew what our flaws were months ago, and while you could argue that we could have papered over it better today, the deficiencies weren't just in midfield, we've got a right back who consistently makes mistakes and we're not domineering enough in general in defensive positions. We knew that last week, we knew that last year.

Rodgers made a mistake by selecting Allen, and in hindsight should have played Hendo for Coutinho or Sturridge.
4-2-3-1 didnt work at all, and the big question to Rodgers should be that we have played 2 games like this before Soton and learned nothing. Villa and Stoke approached us in exactly the same tactic.

Rodgers is young though and will hopefully learn quickly.
I dont think its as straightforward as Kenis post, as its worked more times then not this season.
Its not good though, that we've learned nothing from previous losses.

We needed more control of the midfield and not the Keegan approach.
