Seeing as there are loads of rumours out there and there are probably loads of local lads on here that have heard similar, lets post a bit of Twitter twatter:

@KopWorld: Rodgers has been sacked #LFC

@KopWorld: Told by a lad who works at the foundation that that's the word doing the rounds

@KopWorld: Same lad reckons the groundwork for the new manager was done this summer too so it'll be a quick appointment

I'm kinda sad, I really wanted Brendan to build a legacy here, a young British manager who loved bringing through the youth, such a shame, but its time, I hope we get Ancelotti, but I'm not going to delude myself.

I didnt start this thread mind. Before anyone has a go at me. Posted it in another Rodgers thread.

my feelings posted elsewhere:

Rodgers got us closer to the league than anyone in the last two decades - that was a great ride ... Probably the most fun I've had as a fan since I was a kid.

@gkmacca postig about Rodgers' state is what makes me rather sad. Cocky? Sure, but he gave it a shot, tried various ideas and it just didn't work ...

He had some phenomenal results and some horrific results but he clearly tried to revive the 'ghosts' of this once famous, perhaps permacrocked, giant of English and world football.

He needs to go - not only because he's struggling to get the players playing - but because you can see it's destroying him ... I hope he rebuilds his career somehwere else, and finds himself at a top job in a few years, winning leagues. He's not delivered the goods ... but I won't fault his effot or dedication.

You have to give Rodgers credit for the 13/14 season but most credit for that season must go to Suarez. That season he delivered magic moments we could only dream about almost in every game. He was outstanding both in attack and defense. His pressing game was the best I have ever seen from a striker.

He IMO played the best season a player in the highest english league have ever played and I doubt that we will ever see a player play better week in week out again. So many crazy magic moments that you can't remember them all.

What I never will understand is why Rodgers didn't continue the same tactic and system. He would of course never be able to replace Suarez because you can't replace the most complete attacking player in the world and Sturridge got injured but he could have signed the same type of players and continued to play the same way.

Diamond midfield and two upfront.

When he decided to change system that was the day I started to doubt him.

What was achieved in 2014 was brilliant IMO. Of course we had Suarez but then we've had great players in our attack before and never quite hit those heights.

I don't really care how much it was to do with Rodgers tbh. I've no interest in removing the credit from him for the sake of it. All that matters is whether something like that can be replicated under him in the future, and everything we've seen since makes it seem totally impossible.

He changed the system because he couldn't get the same level or type of player. He *tried* to get Sanchez. We should never have bought shite like Mario for the sake of it, but that's another story that's been done to death. He tried to adjust his system to fit the players, but it didn't work because we weren't as quick and interchangeable, which is what his set up had relied on in 13/14. We lost the stronger two thirds of the leagues best strike force, there's no way on this earth the same system could have worked with Mario or Lambert. Of course he had to change it.

I'm not covinced that he tried to adjust the formation to suit the players. There were too many odd decisions...even the most casual 'soccer' fan could see that none of our strikers were capable of playing as a lone striker. I would like to know what his thoughts were/are as to why we continued/continue to field such negative formations. We had a great deal of success having the opposition on the back foot and forcing them too hoof or risk losing the ball close to their own goal. We seem to be caught in the middle of two workable solutions. Press high and counter attack or sit back and be patient. Death by football. We seem to sit back and when we get the ball we rush and nobody is close enough to one another or the goal to take advantage. We are essentially making it harder for ourselves.

I don't buy that Suarez was the sole reason for our title challenge. He was allowed to shine in Rodgers' system.

My biggest issue is the lack of motivation shown by some of our players. Suarez clearly pushed others to another level and perhaps Rodgers lacks the capacity to get players to run harder for those extra couple of yards.

If he goes, and its still not absolutely certain he will yet, then he will have my sympathy, unlike Hodgson I've never disliked the fella and moreover I still want us to beat Villa. Peter was bang out of order the other day.

You can almost see a good team waiting in there somewhere lurking, Sturridge when fit is a very good player, Benteke, Coutinho etc... It is possible that things could turn around however we've been watching real shite for a good while now and it's a question of stick or twist.

The year we came second was exceptionally good and yes he does deserve some credit for the way he got us playing but then it's not quite the full picture we defended like mugs even in that season, and IMO we simply fucked it up against Chelsea when the title was ours to lose.

Overall Rodgers definitely fell into the trap of over confidence.

It's a results game and drawing 1-1 with Carlisle having watched the team throw it away against Norwich... that sad list goes on... Strange decisions, poorly timed pronouncements, numerous low quality but high price signings, and for me at least his biggest sin, a stubborn refusal to dispose of an obviously text book definition dodgy keeper... that's what will do for him in the end.

I wish him luck if he loses the job and twice as much luck if he keeps it.

Is it bad I'm excited about the prospect of a new coach?

I feel bad for Rodgers as LTW said he's given me the best memories since 05 but its obvious we need a change.

Gave us a hell of a ride to finish second. But losing a world class forward who would bite his own gran's ear off to win and never working out how to set up a defence killed him. Ultimately it was a calculated gamble that just hasn't worked out. He had some good points, but he let his arrogance turn into hubris. Made all the more galling by the fact his arrogance was eventually revealed to be based on fuck all achievement.

I enjoyed that he gave youth a chance but he's bought some absolute dogshit (like every manager before him) and he really needed more of those players to be seen as excellent 'Rodgers' signings. He's also presided over some of the most embarrassing losses in our modern history.
Time to move on.

Some of the posts sound like eulogies as though he's gone already. I know I'm known for spurious links but I wouldn't even post these twitter messages where the information is given by the Groundsman.

I've only a few left.

Anyone this twat is saying FSG landed today. Meeting with Carlo tomorrow - and he's staying at the Hilton
